The beer selection has gone downhill for us as well. They used to carry a few local breweries, but those have been replaced with hard seltzers. I went on a low carb diet a few years ago and would drink seltzers frequently. They all started to taste the same to me after a while. More on reddit.com

Costco has been expanding into the craft beer market lately. But it's all depending on what breweries are distributed close to the given costco you're looking at.
For example, in Southern California, you can find Alesmith's Speedway for around $6 a bottle in the areas around North County.
Likewise, in most of SoCal, you can find Stone's Enjoy By for around $5.40 or so. Or for that matter whatever Stone seasonal beer is out at the given time. I was buying Stone IRS for the same price around April.
In many costcos you can find Sam Adam's Utopias for $150.
You are also correct. Many states do have that law and thus, you don't have to have membership to go in and buy your fill. Great stuff.
