We want to get our kitchen updated and are considering resurfacing our old cabinet doors. Any thoughts on Costco’s Reborn Cabinets?

They don't offer new cabinets. They offer a refacing service. If your layout isn't great and the cabinet boxes and shelves aren't great it's not a solution. They don't change layout and they don't touch shelves. They put a new layer over the front of the existing cabinets and replace the doors. It's fine for a mild refresh of a 20y kitchen. If your kitchen is 30+ it's putting lipstick on a pig.

Definitely no frameless (but frameless is not even that common in many lines. I found for example Kraftmaid didn't have it, I would have to go to Ultracraft or other more "European" lines, but often these are not all wood.) "Costco cabs" aka AWC only have 11 choices of door/color.

If the hardware is Grasse, Blum, or Havle and the cabinet boxes are 3/4" you are off to a good start. I noticed you made a "particle board" comment and I agree with you in most cases. I have never looked at Costco cabinets so I can't judge them, however several years ago I stumbled across Ikea cabinets and after a through look I was impressed.

Anyone have any experience with Costco kitchen cabinet refacing ? It seems they partner with Reborn Cabinets. 2 questions:
What is the quality of work like ?
Are they competitive, or are they on the expensive end ?

I researched this a few years ago when a cabinet refacing company did a roadshow in Costco. It is an extremely costly option and not worth it at all. It turned out to be far cheaper to buy+install new cabinets (bought from Demetra off of Brokaw Rd) than reface. Even if refacing, thumbtack had much better quotes than the Costco one. Quality wasn't an issue, but the Costco cabinet refacer wasn't ready to negotiate, so I stopped after 2-3 rounds of discussion. Of course ymmv, so it doesn't hurt to talk to them and get a quote at least. Shop around though.

I am redoing my kitchen and need to select cabinets. I got an estimate from a company called AllWoodFast through Costco, and I put in an identical kitchen into the IKEA home planner (which is a royal pain in the ass to use).
The IKEA kitchen is about $5k, the AllWood is about $8k. Guarantees are pretty similar, we like the styles about the same, etc. The major differences are the cost, the fact that AllWood is plywood and IKEA is MDF, and the reviews: I can't find much feedback for AllWood, and what I can find is pretty divided.
Has anyone use AllWoodFast for cabinets? If so, how were they?
Would it be worth it to go for the more expensive and less well-known ones?

I can't speak to the Costco stuff but I think you'll find that ikea cabinets rate very highly among their owners. They have great hardware, many different fronts and accessories available, and are easy to install. I used them in my kitchen and am very very happy with them. If you're planning on doing it yourself I really don't think you can go wrong with ikea.

Costco has many good products but once they move on from that product......... I bought a sink from them about 4 years ago for a job, the customer loves it but one of the racks that goes in the sink broke. Costco does not stock them now, and the brand name must have been an exclusive one, so tough luck on finding a replacement. I don't know if that would translate to cabinets, but that is the Costco process. I've done several IKEA kitchens, and don't look anywhere else unless it is to move way upmarket. For average quality, IMO their prices are unbeatable and they have far more accessories and options than others.

November 27, 2025 - The boxes are solid plywood and the finish is perfect. They all have soft close hinges and doors. The cabinets came with a free kitchen designer that worked with us via zoom for hours to come up with the perfect layout. We also did the laundry room with them.
