I’m a professional installer. Have used Costco flooring dozens of times with great results. The locking system is no different (maybe stronger) than much of what is available at your retailer for almost double the cost. The specs are good-the wearlayer, the overall thickness, the pad quality. I prefer the Luxuria though. It’s the heaviest of what they’ve sold in recent years. Very dense core. Solid lock. I’m installing some right now and have another job upcoming with it. As far as “your retailer will have more in a year when you need it”….ive seen that be untrue so many times it’s not funny. Manufacturers drop colours and entire lines whenever they feel like it. As someone who purchases from retailers also, there’s always a big pile of “discontinued” samples sitting at the stores dumpster. There are zero guarantees that you can buy more of anything. My advise, if you think you’ll install more in another area is to always buy it all at once, regardless of whom you purchase it from More on reddit.com

I put this in a friend's rental. I liked working with it. It went together well. Looked good. Went back a few months later for a repair on the steps & still looked good. No complaints on my end More on reddit.com

There's a few posts on Costco LVP but my consensus is that it's a hit or miss. I bought 1000 sq feet of Mohawk from Costco (which some sources claim isn't actually the same as the regular Mohawk LVP brand) and I started laying half a room until I realized that each plank was bowed in the middle. So if you ran your hand across the floor, it would go bump bump bump and the tongue and groove area would be a valley. Others reported good things but maybe their other brands are better like Golden Arowana. Or maybe I just had a bad batch. Regardless, Costco was kind enough to honor the return 8 months after I purchased and found out about the defect. More on reddit.com

Looking at installing vinyl flooring in my basement. Costco seems to have decently priced vinyl flooring.
Does anyone have experience with either of these two brands offered by Costco Canada, Golden Select and Luxuria?
Generally speaking, how is the quality? Any major issues with installation or longevity?

20 mil wear layer and comes out to ~$2.16/sqft. I have 3 toddlers and a dog, curious if this will hold up to abuse. Wanted to get some advice before pulling the trigger as we’d need about 900 sq ft.

Here's what I do to test floors I haven't used before. Take a car key. A sharp one, not a rounded off key fob flip out key. An actual cut key. Try and scratch some in the store with it. You'd be surprised how often just light pressure will make a big mark in some lower quality stuff. I've also seen stuff that even pressing as hard as I could and really trying to make a mark, I couldn't.

Costco Canada always has LVP and Laminate flooring sold in store. Sometimes on sale.
Is it any good? I'm sure someone here must have purchased and installed some Costco flooring.
I have to replace existing laminate flooring in a corner rectangle section of my basement due to a small flood. Instead of re-flooring the entire basement, I'm planning to just put new laminate flooring in the damaged section.
Potentially, I could use LVP. However, it will not match the existing laminate. And the damaged section is part of an open living room in the basement.
I will not get the same color obviously, but since it's a corner section, I can just add a divider or whatever.
At least with Costco the laminate is in stock the day I want to buy it, there's no restocking fee, and I can return any unused boxes which is unlikely. Plus warranty.
However, I don't know about the quality. Pictures attached.

As a flooring installer, it sucks to work with, but yes it is cheap in comparison Also… when shopping for flooring, maybe look at a flooring store rather then next to the sock isle, you get what you pay for
