July 7, 2022iPad Air 11-inch M2 owners, are you happy with your purchase?
So I just bought the iPad Air m2 about a month ago from Costco for $499. This is the first iPad I‘ve ever owned. I have the base 128Gb with a refurbished Magic Keyboard ($125) and Pencil Pro (On sale $99). My goal for this purchase was to replace my aging personal laptop for lightduty tasks, traveling, content consumption, and photo editing for what I would call advanced hobby photography. I am an iPhone and Apple Watch user, but I love my windows PCs. I still have a good powered Lenovo thinkpad work laptop for really intensive things. So far I am really enjoying it. I’ve used it around the house, waiting in a hospital, and a bit traveling. I’ve had no battery power issues or overly heating. I’ve enjoyed using it for content while also browsing the web on the couch or shopping. The Magic Keyboard is a game changer (I’m using it right now). For my web based graduate classes I’ve used it no problem. The Pencil Pro is neat, but not necessary for me. It does make photo editing easier, but I could do without it. I tried to get an off brand version, but I really wanted magnetic attachment and charging. Overall, it was a want and not a need for me. The Pro had a lot of attractive features but was WAY too expensive. The mini was neat and a close contender, but just seemed to close to phone sized, and for some of the photo editing I wanted to do I felt the M2 would be longer lasting. when doing heaving masking during photo editing with the pencil Pro it does get warm and the battery drains faster, but I wouldn’t call it unexpected. That is my longer than expected 1 month review lol. More on reddit.com
