LG has a bad habit of disabling some features until you connect to wifi. My model LG washer did t have that problem but mysteriously required my precise GPS location just to add the washer to my wifi, I simply chose not to give their app unnecessary gps access thus it wouldn’t let me add the clothes washer to wifi. I use it without wifi, and I’m missing out on a couple of soft features like alerts to my phone when the cycle is done and a custom setting option Has to be programmed via the app. I’ve heard I’m missing different chimes to load as well. I have a personal vendetta against Electrolux for screwing me on a dryer. I got a lemon of an electric dryer. Had problems less than 6 months after delivery. They sent repair people every few months to address the same problem until I was out of warranty, and now we have a brick of a dryer. More on reddit.com

I was in the same conundrum last month. Both brands are well reviewed by Consumer Reports. While I preferred the look of Electrolux, I bought the LG, and my reasons follow. Electrolux parts are more expensive than LG (source was my appliance tech) If needed, the newer Electrolux drain filter is hard to access. It's not on the front (like an LG). You have to take the whole thing apart, or you can tip the unit back 45 degrees and rummage around to find it underneath. Neither are enjoyable experiences. The Electrolux door gasket is permanently scented & and it's quite strong. It's kind of like a fake floral, new diaper smell.
