That's a perfectly reasonable price for those parts under normal circumstances. Under today's crazy batshit pricing circumstances? That's an incredible deal and it's basically a block of solid gold with tempered glass over it. Answer from Callinon on reddit.com

November 20, 2023 - Never bought one, but my store has some ibp prebuilts that I've looked through a few times. I don't think they're very good value unless they're on clearance or manager special, then they're pretty good. ... Most of the time better off with online builder or even bestbuy. Educate yourself. Costco ones are typically older specs and lower end. ... Can't speak to how it is now, but it was perfect for me when I needed a new PC during that period of crypto miners buying the shit outta GPUs.

I'm interested in upgrading from my 1080, ideally to a 5090 if I can swing it but at least a 5080. I had two main questions, are the ones costco sells online good prices or just retail price for it? And has costco in the past had supply of top of the line cards before or are they probably only gonna stock prebuilts up to 5080 and unlikely getting 5090s?

I’d say that they are more expensive than just building your own but there are deals every once in a while that make them absolutely worth it. If you aren’t in a rush, then wait for a deal. If you want a new computer soonish and can’t wait 3-6 months for a good deal to pop up, then I would build your own.

I’ve been a lifetime self-builder but bought my last rig (MSi, i9, 3080) from Costco because it ended up being the same price as a self-build, without the effort. The good thing about Costco is they usually tack on an additional warranty, something like 2-3 years. That came in handy in my case - about a year in my CPU water pump was failing (loud pump, temperature warning on high use) and I got a next day padded shipping box, and within a few days they had fully replaced the cooler. Tech support was easy, US based (at least when I called), and took like 5 mins. If the price is within ~$100-200 of a self build it’s probably worth it. You can’t beat Costco’s support and warranty for electronics, or really anything they sell, period.

I am potentially in the market for a new PC, and I saw these at Costco. Are they any good? I think the biggest issues I see with them are RAM and Drive Space but i figured I’d reach out to more knowledgeable people.

Bunch of haters in here on prebuilt computers, but MSI is one of the premium builders. All of their parts are expensive and they use their in-house parts. They don’t make ram and they don’t make drives so that’s probably where they cheated out, but honestly the graphics card the power supply and the motherboard are expensive options

Costco Gaming PC worth it? : r/computers
January 7, 2025 - This is my first time buying a gaming PC and I’m walking back and forth through Costco with it for an hour trying to justify spending $1399. The PC is on sale for $300 off from its initial price of $1699 and I’m wondering if I made the right decision or if I should return it back to Costco.

April 4, 2021 - The only good thing is the price because of that GPU. A 1660TI used is selling at 400 dollars right now. So imagine a new one. When I can't see what kind of parts is inside (Brand and model) I normally stay away from a pre-built. ... The cooler looks pretty wimpy, but probably is sufficient.
