Anyone have any feedback on the Epson EcoTank 3958 printer?
Costco printer
Looking to replace my Costco ET-2850
If you haven’t bought one of the Epson printers you’re missing out on a very satisfying experience
This printer will be $80 off in a few days and I was debating on getting a new printer because my current one costs way too much in ink, and since I don’t use it often the ink dispensers dry out.
I would get a laser printer, but I need color. I also only need to print once a month. So, getting a color laser printer is quite spendy for my needs. Laser printers also tend to take up a lot of space.
What I need to know:
If I don’t use this often will it have an issue with drying out?
Is this printer worth getting if I only print stuff once a month? I don’t have an option to go somewhere to get things printer because I need to print things on the fly, especially if there are changes in the info I’m printing
Does the WiFi/AirPrint work well? I use a Mac and iPhone, so AirPrint working well is a must.
How big is this thing?
Thanks for any feedback on this printer!
Does anyone have this? Is it good? I’m just a uni student and I don’t know anything about printers.
I bought this printer from Costco about a year ago but barely used it until recently. While black-and-white printing works fine, the color prints only come out partially, missing certain colors. I ran the built-in cleaning cycles Nozzle Check, Head Cleaning, and Power Cleaning, which temporarily brought some colors back, but the prints still show empty lines.
From what I’ve seen, this seems to be a common problem with this model. It makes me wonder if Epson wasn’t fully committed to selling these and just offloaded them cheaply through Costco. I’m considering replacing it with the Canon MegaTank G3270, which is currently discounted on Amazon, but I’m worried about running into similar issues. It looks like the Epson sometimes requires third-party maintenance kits and even software hacks to reset it.
Are there any reliable color printers under $300 you’d recommend? I remember Epson used to have printheads integrated into the cartridges, so if there was an issue, you could just swap the cartridge and be back up and running quickly.
