This costco exclusive piano has barely any information out there, and some misinformation, which frustrated me when I was looking to purchase it, so ask me any questions and I’ll answer!
One thing I’ll say here, though, is that the piano DOES have the piano designer feature directly in the Roland app.
I just had a chance to try this the other day in Costco. For $699 you get the keyboard, a stand, 3-pedal setup, and a bench. The action is like the FP-10, 30X, and 60X, all of which use the same action, which is not bad. The keyboard itself is like an amped up FP-10. The speakers are not great, but if you use headphones or an external amplifier it doesn't matter. If you buy an FP-10 for $500 it will have a garbage pedal which will cost $60 to replace, and you still need a stand and bench.
IMHO this is really the rock bottom, solid entry point for a beginner keyboard. If you can afford an acoustic do that, but if you can't this is a very reasonable starting point.
I just got Costco’s new Roland RFP-Nuvola bundle. It does seem like a variation of the FP-30X, with subtle cosmetic variations and small internal differences e.g. a slightly different song/sound list and upgraded Bluetooth (v5.0). I recommend comparing the user manuals on Roland’s website to see the details.
I think the stand and pedal bar look great! Note that the bundle’s bench does not have storage.
Wish me luck — starting lessons this week!
I'm looking for advice on how the Nuvola really compares to the FP-30X ?
I'm purchasing a digital piano as a complete newbie wanting to learn classical piano.
In the future I am interested in also using the digital piano via midi with computer software.
I looked at the NUVOLA in Costco yesterday, nice that it includes everything including stand with pedals.
Does it really support all that the FP-30X does in terms of MIDI control etc?
I found the stand to be a little unsteady.
In comparison I was looking at this FP-30X combo for $759
FP-30X along with the Liquid Stands Portable Heavy Duty Digital Piano Stand & Bench Set - Adjustable Keyboard Music Stand & Seat for 54-88 Key Electric Pianos
We have tried both keyboards, so now it's down to functionality etc.
Thanks for any advice
