Cheapest domain extension?
For consistent affordability, check out TLDs like .xyz, .online, or .site—these often have low renewal rates, typically under $10/year, and many registrars like Dynadot or Porkbun include free WHOIS privacy. Dynadot is especially good because they’re transparent with pricing, so you won’t get surprised with renewal hikes. Pair one of these TLDs with free DNS from providers like Namecheap or Cloudflare, and you’re set for an affordable, reliable setup. More on reddit.com

Are domain names with country codes good?
If you don't know about those local markets, I would not speculate in them. But yes, these can have value. Those gambling domains sell for a lot there because those are regulated online gambling markets where online gambling is a big business. In America, we don't really use .us so we don't have an appreciation for this but in a lot of countries, their country code is roughly the same as .com in popularity. So location-relevant domains can have value there. As I said, best not to start guessing if you don't know the market. More on reddit.com

I'd be interested to see this but per capita to see which countries use their respective domains more often. For example Tuvalu probably has really high use per capita because of its .tv domain. More on reddit.com

For example, Nominet acts as the registry for .uk, while DENIC serves Germany’s .de; many countries even use the NIC naming convention for their registry websites (e.g., nic.fr) for easier identification.
