I was talking to my girlfriend the other day and we came to the conclusion that girlfriend/boyfriend seems to paint too young of a picture(we are 34 and 38) and "partner" seems a bit too old. Is there any other terms that people use to refer to themselves in this context? Just curious what others think or perhaps have used themselves.

For context on usage of the term boyfriend/girlfriend in my particular scenario, our relationship we consider ourselves in love and potentially spending the rest of our lives together.
