Is the Coursera "Applied Data Science with Python Specialization" from Uni of Michigan still a good DS entry level course or is there something more relevant now?
I completed the main data science section of it a few months ago. It's very involved in using scikit-learn. I spent most of my time learning scikit and pandas. However, I have math, CS, and machine learning formal education background so I've dealt with the algorithms presented in the course. If I had to pay for it originally I'm not sure if it'd be personally worth it. If you are not self motivated to learn scikit and pandas with data science application, the course is for you. r/learnmachinelearning on Reddit: Is the Coursera "Applied Data Science with Python Specialization" from Uni of Michigan still a good DS entry level course or is there something more relevant now?
August 27, 2019 -

Im new to DS and ML, been working in a team of Data Scientists for 3 months as part of a work based swap programme. I'd like to improve my Python, Data Analysis, general DS skills and basic ML skills so i'm considering the Applied Data Science with Python Specialization on Coursera. I saw mixed reviews on here so wondered what others thought? Is this still a good course to spend time on or is there something else you'd recommend?

I like the structure of structure of the Data Science Specialization from John's Hopkins but its all in R and I thought solidifying my Python skills first would be best. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.
