Hi everyone hope youโre having a good day, does anyone know any good free software to change fan curves and any tips on optimizing fan curves?
I just bought a PC and it came with Armoury Crate but I am reading it isnt so helpful and its considered bloatware. But at the same time all the posts about it are quite old so I am not sure, is it still a bad software and I should get rid of it?
If so, what are some good alternatives?

My entire intake is through a 280mm radiator, my CPU doesn't really heat up during games and my airflow suffers because of this.
I understand that I could set my min. fan speed higher and get better airflow, but I would really prefer if I could set the fans to speed up above (lets say) 40c CPU temp or 60c GPU temp, and have them chill at a low rpm when I'm below those temps.
Is there some software available that lets me set up a curve for the CPU fans based on more conditions than just the CPU temp itself?
So i want to create a fancurve for my cpu. My cpu cooler and case fans are too loud and it annoys me. I have a ryzen 7 5700x3d and a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB cooler.
First off, i don''t know what speeds i should put at what temperatures. I want my cpu to be cool but not that the fans are so hot. Also, what do case fans use as the temperature source? Should i just use my cpu temps as a reference? Lastly, what do these two features in the picture do and what is the best settings for therm? Thank you in advance!
was looking for a software that would let me monitor all my fan speeds and change them if need be i saw a few posts from 2 to 3 years ago about hwinfo and fan control from gifthub and was wondering if they are still good programs and if so what one would be the better one.
also this is probably a dumb question but i also use afterburner to monitor my cpu temp and use it to auto my gpu fan speed if i had hwinfo or fan control would it cause issues with afterburner auto?
thanks for taking your time to answer my questions.

I've never used software that allows one to set a custom cpu fan curve before, so I would like to know what is the recommended software to do so and how do I go about using it?
With the new Ryzen 3000 CPU's, my idle temps are between 47 degrees and 55 degrees using the new AMD Ryzen Balanced Power plan from the new chipset drivers. Actually, it's been like that regardless of Power Plan. I've been avoiding gaming entirely since the cpu upgrade as I'm afraid that my temperature will go over 80 degrees or higher.
Not to mention, the CPU fan revving up from time to time from simple web browsing is starting to get annoying. So I'm hoping to fix the high temps by setting a custom fan curve for the CPU.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Asrock should have software to set your fan curves, or you can usually do it in the BIOS as well. You can definitely stop it from revving up all the time by customizing the fan settings.
Don't worry about your temps while gaming and just give it a try, with a cooler like that I'd be surprised if you see 80C at all, but regardless the CPU won't be hurt if you hit 80C+
i had the pro 4 and always used performance mode on all my fans
The GPU i have has really horrendous default fan curve so i tweak it with CoreCtrl. But that only works on the GPU and processor, not the case fans.
Any easy to use GUI program i can try to control all of them? I can kind of do it in BIOS, but i can't set them to monitor the GPU temperature for instance, which creates a rather unique problem.
See, when i had the stock cooler, which was horrible and regularly exceeded 85 degrees, the case fans would ramp up due to the CPU temperature, and consequently also help cool the GPU.
Now that i have a better CPU cooler which manages 60C under load, the case fans don't ramp up as much (if at all), and the GPU ends up more hot - but with the poor default curves, the hotspot regularly reaches above 90C, which is kinda scary to me, so i try to keep it under 90.
I know fancontrol exists as part of lm_sensors, but i find it weird to configure and i'm never quite sure it works. Also, idk what i should select during pwmconfig and sensors-detect, so i just leave it at default, idk if that's the correct thing to do.
So... What are y'all using to control the fan speeds while gaming? Any tips?
Hi,
Is there software for the B550 MAG Tomahawk board so I can control/set the fan curves in windows rather than the BIOS? Ideally something with a GUI.
Thanks.
Hello, I have a small question for you. Namely, does anyone perhaps know where to find some chart for setting the curve (fans speed) for gaming and video editing? Or maybe any of you have or could come up with some reasonable one so that the fans don't go at 80% when davinci resolve is on (I set them that way XD). Thank you very much in advance!

Hi all,
Having heard horror stories about motherboard manufacturers filling your PC up with bloatware (and having used a fair amount of it in the past), is MSI Center really my only solution to control the 4 case and 2 CPU fans I have in my "new" (read: resetted) build? If not, what should I be using? What I'd appreciate isn't too complex, really just being able to set a custom fan curve and leave that running in perpetuity? I'm not sure if there's BIOS control of fans the motherboard I have (B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC) but a single way to bring it all together would be fantastic. None of them are RGB, so I don't need to worry about controlling that at least.
Thanks.
I have Thermalright PS120, 7600, and the Corsair 5000x case. People keep telling me to look up a tutorial and do it myself, but my CPU fan always starts sounding like a jet engine in games. Can someone tell me some good cpu fan curves? (MSI bios)
Just got a new AIO Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120 Liquid Cooler and wondered what software would be best to make a fan curve with for it.
I have a Gigabyte GA- Z97P- D3 but I don't think any of the Gigabyte software supports fan curving.
Any software recommendations?
So I just built my glorious new PC and I have tried looking online for help with a curve adjusting program. However, all I found were guidelines on how to set the curve with no mention of a program at all. The reason why I am asking this is because my CPU fan is running at full load at all times and only bring it down my using SpeedFan. CAN ANYONE HELP ME!?
Just built my first SFF PC in the M1 and first one in over 10 years! Looking to do a bit of noise control and have 2 bottom 120mm fans as intake and want to control their fan curve based on gpu temps.
So what fan control software are you guys using for this scenario?
"Fan Control" is the best. I can't believe not more people are talking about it:
https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.Releases
Also got YouTube tutorials how to set it up. It's very easy. You can base the fan curve on several sources, so it's not having to only be tied to one of them, etc. Very neat program:

I use argus monitor, it's not free but well worth it.
Speed fan could also be an option.
Hi all,
I just completed building/testing my PC, but I am unsure about what the best fan curves are to use. I currently am using the standard curves given from the BIOS.
Case: MSI Vampiric 010
CPU: 15-13600k
GPU: MSI Gaming Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB
MoBo: MSI Pro Z690-A WiFi DDR5
RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MHz C36
PSU: Corsair CX750F RGB
CPU Fan: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
Case fans: 6x Thermalright TL-C12C-S
I have currently daisy chained 3 case fans (twice, so 2x3) PWM.My motherboard however does have 6 seperate fan connectors, so plugging each fan in on their own would be possible as well (if that would be any better instead of daisy chaining them).
Could anyone perhaps help me out in this case?
Thank you in advance.
Edit: Currently playing CS:GO and below are my current temps with the standard BIOS fan curves:
CPU Core temperature: around 44 degrees Celcius
CPU Socket temperature: around 33 degrees
System temp: 33
Fan speeds:
CPU Fan: 450 RPM
Sys fans: 1100 RPM
GPU Fan: 1400 RPM
Do you guys set your case fans to adjust based on CPU/Motherboard temps or do you max them out so that they stay constant at a desirable speed?
