If it's the overclock option within AMD Adrenalin that you're talking about - they make you click an agreement that it could harm the chip when you enable it. I will say that any Ryzen system I have ever enabled the easy overclock feature in Adrenalin with has been rock solid and never an issue. Their software has limitations built in to keep your CPU safe. It's much safer than if you were manually adjusting voltages yourself. I would call it certainly safe. More on reddit.com

I strongly agree. If someone wants to tinker with their cpu, they should definitely do it via bios. And if not, via Ryzen Master, as thats its purpose in the first place. I´m installing my gpu driver software here so a full adrenalin install should never install a ryzen master service for cpu tuning on my pc. (Especially not when the next time i install a minimal version without ddu through the official way, adrenalin does not bother cleaning up my registry. So on any boot after that there will be an Error message in Win Event Log). Its not transparent on what changes are made, it has absolutely no business in a gpu driver software and the only way to make an official full install and avoid this unneccessary bloat is to buy an intel cpu. I cannot fathom why Engineers at AMD accepted this, as they should know better themselves. More on reddit.com

Hello everyone. I haven't built a PC since like 2012 and it looks like overclocking has been built right into everything these days, pretty awesome. That being said, I was just hoping to get a start on what to use to OC my new gear.
AMD Ryzen5 7600. Asus B650 motherboard.
EXPO compatible ddr5 memory. Sapphire 7800xt.
So it looks like I can OC the CPU and the memory right in the BIOS. But while doing a fresh install also grabbed: Armory Crate, Sapphire Trixx and Radeon Adrenalin.
Couple basic questions.

Which of the above should I use to OC my videocard ? I'm assuming Trixx ?
-
I'm assuming I should OC the CPU and Ram right from the bios ?
-
If my memory runs at 4800 Hz, is there any point in overclocking it if I can't get the CPU (base 3800 Hz) up that high ?
Many thanks in advance. This is super exciting. Have zero experience OC stuff.
