I've been looking for an 8 cylinder pickup truck or SUV lately and willing to spend $10k give or take. It seems that all the vehicles I look at on CL are priced about $2000 over what sites like kbb.com and http://www.vmrintl.com list as the market price.

Now I know than when buying a used vehicle, you expect to haggle a little bit, but do people really overprice an $8500 truck by $2000? Are the online "this is what your car is worth" sites way off?

I'm curious if this is a local thing or what, since I have only bought a couple vehicles in my life.
