After reading reviews of the Gather sofa, I'm concerned about a couple things: Vertical Back: Behind the back cushion, the back wall is said to be 100% vertical on the inside, no angle, so the cushion does the same. This seems to cause discomfort for some buyers. I guess that slight 10+/- angle on most sofas really helps posture. A quick test in a store won't reveal if this will be problem. Maybe the deep sofa can mitigate the issue by having some extra cushions behind you. Long term seat cushion quality - especially if you double the price for leather. Some have said their seat cushions start to sink after a year, making it difficult to get out or reduces comfort. C&B usually replies with their care instructions, such as flip cushions, rotate, this and that, every 1 to 2 weeks (Recommended weekly if used daily). That's to evenly distribute wear on the cushion, maybe to visually keep its shape, but I wonder how that will cure the direct center from losing firmness. Most reviews don't mention if they followed these instructions or if C&B fixed the issue. Also, I find it crazy you cannot find a single mention of warrant on their site. Mostly something along the lines they strive to make sure you are satisfied or something. That doesn't mean much if they can simply say you didn't follow their weekly care instructions or normal wear, even if in a short period. Gather seems to be one of the few sofas that are under 80" length, plus shorter height, offer good seat depth options, all without compromising comfort. We are looking for a leather sofa under $4k and seriously considering the Gather. Anyone own this/have experience with it? Most reviews seem positive on the C&B site, but a few people said the cushions break down quickly.
Open to any other recommendations for a sofa under 80" wide. Thank you!

We just got our Gather sofa. We had a verano II before, and compared to that the gather sits a little higher and firmer. We love how it looks and thought the leather would be less interesting to our cat than the verano ended up being. We’re adding an ottoman which will make it feel a bit more laid back. We have found that the cushions started too firm and are breaking in nicely. Not sure how they will be long term. Hope that helps!
