I recently stumbled upon this video talking about how easy it is to make money with jam games thanks to Crazygames (CG). I looked into this a bit further, signing up for a dev account on CG (That was super easy btw.) etc. It feels like they are trying to make themselves look like "Itch.io but you get moneeeeyyy!!!". Their developer UI is basically the one from Itch, and I really thought at first that they allow you to just upload games to their platform. Only in the top bar I actually saw that there's a "Review" step after the "Uploading" step.
So my questions are: Is that really true? How many players do you get when publishing on CG? Do you actually get real money? Do they actually do something to promote your game or are you supposed to do that yourself? Is it worth it?
Yesterday I had two matches in a row where my team was last and winning felt 99% hopeless, until the very very end of the round where the universe aligned to allow us to still win the round.. in the first game, I swear to god, we got the cashout in the last NANO second. If you had asked me the odds of that happening it must have had many zeros behind the comma like 0,000001%. Winning that round felt unreal, like winning a lottery.
These moments make this game really special and amazing, not to speak of the crazy destruction engine. I remember one game where an ENTIRE BUILDING shifted above the abyss, and people falling down in the building fell right into death. Hilarious.
I played numerous games in my live but there were few games that come close to the things that happen in the finals.
