You don't need an Apple ID to submit your podcast to Apple Podcasts. You used to, up until March this year, because you needed to submit manually via Podcasts Connect (Apple's podcaster dashboard) using your Apple ID. Apple changed this process in March, and now it's a simple one-click submission via your podcast hosting platform, and usually approved within an hour. You can still claim the show on Podcasts Connect for additional data about your audience on Apple Podcasts, and for that you'd need an Apple ID. You are correct in your thinking. They create a company account, pay the fee and then they can invite you as a developer role. Another commenter said “legalities aside….”. You can not set legalities aside. The account that publishes the app needs to accept legal contracts and complete tax forms to submit to Apple. That should all be the responsibility of the client company not you as an individual! More on reddit.com

Hi all, I'm producing a pod and we have a host email, YT account and just got the RSS feed up so I want to also post to Apple and Spotify. Spotify was easy and Apple seems easy as well, but I need to create an Apple ID (now called Apple Account) to post to Apple.
I have a personal Apple Account but would like to create a new one just for posting the podcast I produce, to stay organized. However I get hit with the error code when trying to create a new account because they all must be tied to a phone number, but obviously mine is in use already.
I read some other posts here but don't see any definitive answer. Have others had this issue and is there a workaround? I really want to keep my personal and working account separate - how is this not possible?

You don't need an Apple ID to submit your podcast to Apple Podcasts. Went through something similar. I launched my podcast TODAY and can’t claim my show. I tried creating an Apple account. Got to the step where it send a verification code to my cell number (which is tied to my personal Apple account) and it times out and doesn’t let me proceed. Can’t claim my show. Let me know if you figure it out. I’ll do the same.

What the title says. I maintain an Android app for a company, and we are exploring the possibility to port it to iOS. Technical aspects aside, I read that I can enrol to the Apple Developer Program as an individual (using my Apple ID), but if I'm understanding right, to publish as my client, they would need to generate the Apple ID, enrol, and then invite me to their projects. Is that right?
I've searched previous posts on this sub, but I couldn't find a straight answer to this one.

Is it possible to pay a “shell” company to release your app? Let’s say you wanted to publish under a firm name to hide your identity but just have another entity publish the app. Is this possible?
