Hi all
We have sold the family business and looking to move the remaining accounts from Workspace Standard (paid) to free accounts. I've now seen there is a deadline of 21 August to do this.
We have 2 domains, lots of data in G Photos & Drive etc but don't use anything other than Docs, Gmail, Drive and Photos. No meet, voice etc.
Would we be able to continue using the two domain names (old family business name and new family domain name) with the free tier for personal use if I go down the Workspace 'Free' route?

" After August 21, 2023, you can no longer identify as a personal user and revert to a no-cost subscription. If you already identified that you use your account for personal use, you don’t need to take any further action at this time. "
How will our data be handled? We have 2TB each through the workspace business standard sub at the minute, we would then drop to 30GB each afterwards, but I hope we wouldn't lose all the data in drive and photos? We have lots of family photos and shared albums created by us. The albums is the primary pain in the backside as we can't afford to have them drop off.
I assume we will be able to then individually pay for increased storage like a regular google user would? eg 1TB, 2TB etc.
Thanks
I am a virtual assistant and my client has asked me to set up his Google Workspace account. He had one, but it was deleted on purpose. Once the account is set up, I will need to migrate data across from the account where it is being held to the new Google Workspace account.
I'm guessing I'd need to be an Admin to do this. My client wants to be the only user and I don't have an email address on his domain.
Am I able to do this, using my email address and then once I've migrated his work, make him an admin and delete my account?
Or
Can I set myself up as admin and create him as the only user?
I'd appreciate any guidance, this isn't my area of expertise.
Thanks!
Shannon
I have a Google account that I use for all google services except Gmail -- (Sheets, YouTube and use it of OAUTH login for several websites).
The e-mail account itself is hosted elsewhere (MX Route) because I didn't want to pay $8/mo for Google Workspace.
The Google account is [email protected]
I realize I need to add a couple of new employees and share Google Sheets and other Docs between the 3 of us, so I am going to subscribe to Google Workspace for mybusiness.com.
Here's the million dollar question: How can I migrate my existing Google account content into a Google Workspace account for the domain name?
Is there anyway to convert the existing Google account into a Workspace account, add Gmail App, and add additional users?
Or, will I have to create a brand new Google / Workspace account with [email protected] and render the original Google account with one of those tepid@googleapps addresses? Manually copy & paste / migrate the content from the 1st account?
A while ago I created a google account (but not a gmail account) using my own domain, to use some google services (not gmail) using [email protected].
The e-mail account itself was hosted elsewhere (namecheap) because I didn't want to pay for Google Workspace, although my namecheap subscription for the email hosting has now expired as I stopped using it.
I now want to get a google workspace account, and I want to sign up using the same address [email protected] as the account admin.
There is no data associated with the account that I care about, and at this point I wish i had never created it!
Is it possible to just sign up to Workspace using [email protected]? If I do this, will my old account just be migrated to a different address like @googleapps.com or something?
I've tried to find an answer to this but couldn't find anything for my exact situation, any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm too worried about messing something up to continue!
