Cricket Wireless has the iphone 11 on sale for $99 if you sign up for their $60 plan. I know that in the past, if you sign up for one of these of deals that had the $60 plan as a condition, you could immediately switch your plan online to the $30 plan (only caveat being you would have to keep the service for 6 months instead of 3). I noticed the new fine print that says "Account will be subscribed to the $60 plan for 3 months". I assume this is to get the device payment credits. Does anyone know if this is a new change that will require you to keep the higher rate plan or would you be able to switch to the $30 plan and just keep the service for 6 months?
Earlier this year on the same terms they wouldn t let me change the plan until 3 months however I was able to combine the line with my other one and get the $120credit moved over then cancel the $60 line resulting in paying for only one month on the $60 plan
Account will remain subscribed to $60/mo. plan for three months.
So not being able to switch to a lower rate plan seems like a good way to keep you from changing to a cheaper plan.
Also, it is highly likely that you still can't unlock until after 6 months anyway.
(edit: not referencing the deal for People who already have numbers, referencing the terms in the details part, which is a different, not advertised deal)The wording seems unclear in the details section to me
• it's only for 2 months, you can switch to a cheaper plan at month 3
• this process works with any of the deals. If the deal is "get $PHONE for $PRICE when you also buy $MONTHS of service" then you can switch to whatever plan you want after you complete those $MONTHS of service.
You can do that switch via your online account and or online chat when it's getting close to your monthly renewal date
The phone deals are only available for people porting a number from a different company, but, Since you are a new customer who needs a new number , you will be paying $199+ tax for the phone, + 60 plan for the iphone 11,
now for the iphone 12 you will be paying $299+ tax for the phone, + $60 for the plan
