If you get coverage at Apple if something happens you’ll get a 1:1 replacement of your phone if that needs to be done. At Cricket it’s up to Asurion if they have your exact phone in stock. Sometimes their online thing brings up the wrong color and capacity too. Also if they’re out of 13’s you’d be bumped up to a 14 or 15. Screen repairs are free, but it’s up to the person working the store if you’ll get a phone with a new water resistance seal installed. Apple removes the old and adheres it correct. Twice my family’s phone came without said seal and the display felt “squishy”. More on reddit.com

You can choose T-Mobile as the carrier. Since you are buying a Pro model of iPhone, you will not be required to connect the iPhone to T-Mobile at checkout. Once it arrives, however, during setup, iPhone will ask you to enter your T-Mobile number to connect it to T-Mobile and you will not see any option to bypass this. Just enter a random phone number (or your own, doesn't matter) and click "Continue". The process will fail after the third attempt and you will see a new option to skip Carrier Connection and proceed with setup. Everything should be smooth sailing and the phone will continue to be finance on your Apple Card. Alternatively, you could pay for the phone in full, charge the full amount to your Apple Card, and then text Apple Card Support and ask them to connect it to a Monthly Instalment Plan. Doing that would let you skip the T-Mobile part of iPhone setup but I'd personally not feel comfortable having to hope GS converts the charge to an instalment plan, although people have done it without issue. If you are having trouble keeping up with payments on your device, contact your mobile service provider ASAP- the earlier they know the better. Even if you do end up being able to make future payments, they’ll still be appreciative either way.

This is a common issue and the mobile service provider won’t be a stranger to the situation, they’ll have options in place for you to suit your situation.

As for what will happen, well, that depends on the mobile service provider. If they know you are having issues making payments they are less likely to stop your service, but generally if you don’t pay they will suspend your service but won’t blacklist the device you have financed with them. If they still don’t receive payment they’ll then likely blacklist the device, but will only be able to blacklist it on their own network (they can only blacklist the device across all networks if it’s reported as stolen).
