Cricket is absolutely terrible they have no one in the US working and if they don’t feel like helping you they’ll just hang up I’ve had been hung up on three times today by this trash company half of them I couldn’t understand and when I asked to be transferred to a supervisor I’ve been hung up on multiple times the auto pay just stopped working and when I called them they tried to say it was my issue my bank says It is not it is cricket and they wanna try to charge me more money to reactivate a service I’ve had for years and never missed one payment never had an issue till now with payment any recommendations for a company that has good service where I can get two lines for 100 bucks

I am a new customer and cannot believe how difficult Cricket makes it to both contact support and give them money. In short, I had to call multiple times to setup my account because their website and app never worked. Once I finally got my account setup, they never billed my credit card and charged me $9 in fees to pay over the phone.
This type of practice is predatory and inexcusable, especially for a company built on public airwaves. Cursory digging shows my story is not unique. Please file FCC and FTC complaints. Document how predatory and incompetent Cricket's customer service is. It only takes a few minutes to submit a complaint online:

how did they never bill you but also charged you over the phone? so there is just ONE big issue with your problem....for new activation whatever you bought is called a "self install sim" for a reason. there is really no conceivable reason to call customer service for an activation because they are time consuming and there is no reason to tie up an agent because you are some special flower that needs attention. No it is not predatory to expect you to set up your own self install kit. Inexcusable, meh maybe....predatory...lol no. Also, your complaints to the FCC will accomplish nothing. These problems have existed with cricket for almost a decade and they arent going anywhere. If putting a sim card into a phone is that much of a challenge, go to a store (and true story...i would never service self install kits customers brought us because 100% of the time the customer ALWAYS fucked something up and only made our jobs harder).

Cricket is the worst! I tried porting my number into cricket last night. The eSIM activation failed so, I called (chatted) with support. Support tells me to delete the eSIM so we can restart the setup, so I did. Support then tells me that they would need to send me an OTP to verify my identity EXCEPT I have no service. I explain that I have no service since I deleted my eSIM, so he now tells me I need to go to a cricket store…..after 9pm. SMH. So, today I go to the cricket store (rude support staff) charges me an additional $10 for another eSIM to activate. I only paid because I wanted my phone number but as soon as I activated I ported out to US Mobile. Cricket has an enemy for life!

I agree: Cricket has a defective system. I also had a similar situation. They “say” that they have no way to verify a customer without the 6 digit code that they send your Cricket phone number. I had bought a new phone and sent my trade in for credit. So no way to send me a verification code. In the call center in another country, I was able to get my account verified with my social. (They won’t let you do this in a chat.). But the representative could not (for no reason) send the QR code for me to set up my eSIM. I had paid for a year service in advance. My line was active. And yes, I HAD to go in the store to activate my new phone and pay the $10 because the call center could not activate my phone. Only online activation is free. The stores are a joke in my opinion. Incidentally, the store clerk said the call center representatives are probably contract people at home answering calls and make mistakes. (Roosters, not crickets, are heard cackling in the background.) Cricket is AT&T’s poor stepchild and it lacks professionalism. Look at your receipt the Cricket store gave you. If you paid by credit card, it may say that Cricket could store my credit card information and use it to pay future bills (unless I call their call center and cancel this automatic authorization.) I tried making that call: The call center summarily hung up on me.

US MOBILE screwed up my mother's number to the point that we couldn't activate it at a Verizon Store after porting it.. She wound up losing her number and having to get a fresh number. >_<
