The Heat is dependent on how many lava source you surround it with. If you put a lava source West, south, east, north, and down side of the melter itll raise the Heat to 10 which is enough to melt obsidian! https://imgur.com/FGjAwol More on reddit.com

Does anyone know how to make this thing work?
I've got it placed over a lava source and it'll melt single items but it won't do the more complex recipes like for crystalized obsidian.
Is this because the heat level isn't high enough? Currently, for my melter, its heat is at 2 and I don't know how to increase it beyond that.
Please help :(
edit: I actually figured out that the blocks were in the wrong spots.
it actually needed to be:

| obsidian | crystalized amber |
Melter melting single acacia logs properly
Melter not melting the materials into crystalized obsidian

Tried this in my survival world, wasnt working so I cam to creative and I have this setup, but it's not making any crystallized amber, what am I doing wrong? Do I need a certain block underneath the solidification chamber?

You have the wrong item in the bottom slot. If you're using honey you need a fire charge, redstone dust, and a magma block.

I'm having the same issue but with Crystallized Obsidian, first off I couldn't find the recipe anywhere in-game (even in the Cyclic guidebook), but I found it online (obsidian, crystallized amber, then chorus fruit with liquid slime). It didn't work for me. I checked if I have more than one type of obsidian or fruit... etc but I only have one the original minecraft version. Does anyone know what the problem is?
