If anyone is looking to inspect skins in-game in CS2, you can easily do so by using Epidemic's servers and their site CS2Inspects OR use their servers with !gen codes (from Broskins etc..) if you'd rather craft that way.
I just found out about this through Ohnepixel's server's members today after digging around on Reddit and google for 20 mins.. thought I'd share in case people search the same thing.

hey does anyone have an idea how to create/setup a public server (hosted locally) to test out skins (via !gen commands or whatever alias)? obviously not looking for a step by step guide (although that would be perfect..) here.
before anybody comments this, I do know about actual services just for this, csinspects, csfloat, etc. Curious how this would be done on a personal level.

Do you guys know if there are any CSGO servers still up to inspect skins ? I wanted to check for a bit of nostalgia. Maybe EU region if that's possible. Or is there any way to make gen codes work locally ?

I’d like to know this as well. You can get CSGO to load your inventory which lets you inspect/equip any skins you own, but I haven’t found anything like an inspect server where you can use gencodes to inspect skins you don’t own. It did make me realize how much better CS2 looks in most ways, CSGO looks very dated in comparison.

Yes. CSFloat has inspect servers if you use it. You can also join epidemic’s discord (or go to console and type connect “nuke.epidemic.gg” (or whatever map you’d like instead of nuke) and it will bring you to a server. From there, use the site cs2inspects.com to generate an inspect link.
