Do not fill it if you do not need Financial Assistance in any form - loans, financial aid, etc. Also, you should not selected financial aid required in common app. Merit Aid works differently. You will be automatically considered for Merit-aid if you apply by certain deadlines that vary by school. For USC (southern cal.) if you are eligible for it, they would let you know shortly after the admit letter is released. Hi all I want to apply for merit-based scholarships and am not financial need for USC specifically. I am an international student and I know applying to financial need will damage your chances for admissions so I want to avoid that.
I am only asking whether or not I need to apply the CSS profile if I want merit based scholarships or any scholarships that wont damage my chances.
