Looks like you gotta buy the OEM's. Guess cub cadet is becoming the Apple of lawncare and this hole design is their lightning port. Just find a cryogenics lab close to you. If you freeze them to -130 degrees F it will harden metal. Blades may last 10 years before you have to sharpen them. More on reddit.com

If so, they are propriaritary to Cub Cadet. Their idea, their blades, that is until the patent allows others to duplicate them. I had these on my 54 inch deck bought three years ago.

My blades kind of got torched mowing this past weekend due to someone someone leaving a small kid's rake out in the yard. Totally trashed the blades with nicks galore and seem unsalvageable. Spindles seem to be fine.
However, since my Cub Cadet XT1 LT46 is new (purchased in March) the manufacturer appears to have deviated from star center hole blades and went to a proprietary design shown here that I cannot seem to find anywhere else other than Cub Cadet's website. I don't really want to necessarily get Cub Cadet's blades, as prior to this mower, I'd always had much better luck with non-OEM blades holding edges much longer. Just wondering if anyone else has had to replace these style of blades and if they found a better source than the OEM yet. Seem a little too new of a style to have much in the way of competition, unfortunately.

I understand this thread is a year old but i have a cub cadet ultima zt1 54 same stupid s design blades. 90$ for 3 replacement blades at either lowes tsc or online amd i mow alot so they tend to get expensive as well as the spindles going for close to 150. If u google ur mower and deck rebuild kit 8ten makes a set of star spindles that replaces yours for less than the price of 1 s spindle. Mine should be here today by 2:30. The highlifts mine came w wont work in my sharpening jig due to the extreme lift slope amd im going to switch out the middle and inner spindles for mid lift start blades and leave the discharge side as a s highlift blade so it doesnt gum up with debris inside the deck but also use less power amd fuel. ALSO TIP FOR EVERYONE W THESE SPINDLES ive lost 4 spindles this year alone, amazon sales 6024 rs sealed bearings like 10 for 20$ buy them and grease them about 1/4th the way full anymore will kill them and theres borderline none in them when they arrive then reinstall youtube will show you how if youve never rebuilt a spindle but deffinitely saves alot of money, also every 6 months for residential yards take spindles off and spray bearings out w brake cleaner and regrease and go ahead and buy grade 8 bolts to replace the factory spindle bolts with there very soft and i broke 1 per spindle when removing took about 45 minutes each w a drill press to get them out. If you have to buy a spindle cut the threads w the factory bolts then use the grade 8 so it doesnt try to cross thread. i know this is a lot to read but if one person listens and it saves them money im happy especially against a company utilizing bs blade designs to charge 4 times the price for blades as everyone else
