#420 chain drives the tines, #50 chain drives the wheels. It's real common for them to break the #420 chain on the tines if you hit a rock or something solid that creates a sudden shock load.

Anybody have experience breaking down the gearbox on one of these? I took one in for repair but have no experience with these particular setups. That looks like you have to gear shift arm off to remove the cover. None of this makes any sense, but I've seen engineers do dumber things. I noticed someone mentioned they had one when I did a search of threads. Where do you check/add oil? I guess this is the RT 65 by looking at a pic of one on the Cub Cadet website.
