Just wondering if anyone else has run into a problem after replacing the air filter. This error is coming up after putting the new one in. Its a generic cheap air filter but it seems to fit properly.
Is there a sensor in the stock filters? Or is this really sensitive?
The error was not present prior to replacing it.
I have a Craftsman 20442 Lawn Tractor. I had it serviced fairly recently but I noticed the other day the little LED display started showing the change oil filter and change air filter messages. I think it's because I just ticked over 100 hours usage - the manual says the maintenance schedule is every 50 hours for these things. But the manual also says to check the engine manual for specific details about changing these filters. I'll have to dig that engine manual out, but in the meantime how would you typically go about turning that message off on a typical ride on mower? Can the engine detect when the air filter and oil filter are actually changed and that's when the notifications turn off, or is there usually just a button somewhere that you press once changed? Thanks!
