Finally another person with this issue. I just changed the air filter and it’s still showing the warning. Any updates OP? More on reddit.com

So the engine will start and run with a rough idle. If I Try to engage blades or drive and it will stall. Thinking it was the fuel filter I checked online for some documentation on the Cub cadet RZT S42 with a Koehler engine. I couldn’t find anything that was my specific setup. So checked the lines to see where it was. I couldn’t find it! So I assumed it must be an in tank fuel pump and filter. Sure enough, after removing the shroud around the gas tank I confirmed. I pulled out the fuel pump but I still didn’t see a filter. No way there’s no fuel filter, I thought. Well there used to be. I thought maybe it was just bad gas. Worked fine last week, though. I went to drain the fuel tank and noticed little pieces of what looked like paper. Weird. After looking closer I noticed mesh, an O-ring and what looks like the frame of a paper filter. I found the fuel filter. It had completely dissolved in the gas tank. I do not use e85. I really try not to use ethanol at all in any of my small engines. Admittedly, there have been a few times where I got some cheap gas in a hurry and ended up at a gas station without ethanol-free gas. Anyway, Cub cadet won’t cover it as I don’t have proof of purchase on the mower. Even though it was manufactured in 2018 (still in warranty period). The lawnmower came with my house when I purchased it last year. Moral of the story: don’t ever buy a Cub cadet. It used to be a reputable brand but now it’s just Home Depot regurgitated garbage. I will begin replacing all the components that could now be clogged with paper. Unless you all have some better ideas? More on reddit.com
