I’ve found all sorts of differing information for what fluid that goes in there and the owner’s manual that came with the tractor is no help as it says the transaxle isn’t user serviceable and that it’s supposedly sealed so it doesn’t even tell you what’s in it. More on bobistheoilguy.com

Hey all, about to do my first oil change (5 hrs break in) on my CC XT1, and was wondering if I should just use the kit they sell or if anyone can recommend a better oil? The kit is on sale for $35 with 2 quarts, fikter nad drain pan. What do yall recommend? Sorry for the newbie question, it's just my first mower. Thanks

DO NOT use any other oil filter than the Kohler OEM - it CAN void your warranty (i'm a Kohler engines dealer) if you use a junky Amazon bought filter, also use small engine oil with zinc and antiwear additives, 10W30 oil only, don't use automotive oil it will break down quicker and cause problems in the long run, an engine on a mower is air cooled it runs 10x more hot than your car.

Hey, just looking for some help. Our mower, which was jumped this morning to run for the first time this season, ran just fine.
We changed the oil, filter is tight, oil is not overfilled, filler cap is tight, but now it wont jump. The headlights wont even flicker, no crank no nothing. When we tried to jump it, post oil change, it made some sort of buzzing sound, but now doesn't even do that.
Any advice on where to start for troubleshooting? It has not been heavily run, so I don't think there should be wear on any oil o-rings, as far as a fouled spark plug goes. Air filter is a little dusty, but nothing crazy. And it ran just fine pre-oil change.
