So I am in the market for a ducth oven and after looking up things I came across America's test kitchen's post and to no surprise Le Creuset was the top choice
that however is a little out of my price range so when I saw their "best buy" I thought I would pull the trigger on that however searching their site it only shows 2 colors, and when looking for this item on amazon there is multiple items listed from a 3rd party seller for 40 dollars less than the one sold by amazon but Im curious are these counterfeit dutch ovens? I know that there are discontinued colors but i cannot find info on this anywhere online.

My cuisinart Dutch oven enamel has started to flake off. Is it worth spending the extra bucks on an expensive Dutch oven, or for the price, go cuisinart again? FYI. My cuisinart DO lasted about 15 years of fairly regular use.

America's Test Kitchen has a couple good YouTube videos , where they review several Dutch ovens including Le Creuset and Cuisinart. The winner is Le Creuset, but they also explain their criteria and decisions, so they are worth watching I have two Le Creuset Dutch ovens that I got at local estate sales for about $40 each and they are essentially brand-new. I think that's cheaper than any of the Dutch ovens tested by ATK. Well worth the hunt!

If that shitty cuisinart is breaking down after 15 years, it’s probably not user error. My parents have had the same le creuset for around 40 years and they are still in great shape. They’ve given me a couple (mostly used) and a new staub Dutch oven that are in great condition after about 15 years of my use. The fancy enameled are worth it, and if you treat them right they’ll last a lifetime. But I’ve also got a stack of lodge cast iron that I thoroughly abuse and never have to worry about.

Hey everyone,
Recently found a few 5-ply Cuisineart pots at my Homesense (Canada).
I bought this Dutch oven for 69.99 CAD before taxes. Is this a good deal? They have a bunch more of the same style in different sizes and I'd love to know if it's be worth to pick up a few more sauce pans and a 3qt casserole. I should also note I'm moving soon and will have an exposed coil top stove. Thinking of buying an induction double burner if the coil top is to slow to boil etc.
Regardless of price very excited to use this bad boy for Sunday meal preps!

It should be fine but most likely brands like this are thinner than other fully clad stainless steel. It should be fine for most needs though

More than fine. I own a very similar set and love cooking in them. Spec wise, they're right in the middle, not high end and not low end. But if you like the hammered look, I would say that the joy of owning cookware you like the look of is much more important than small performance improvement that can be solved with time. Exposed electric coil will also be fine, better performance than your average gas stove.

Staub makes an excellent Dutch oven, but they are pretty pricey. If you want something to hand down to your children, I would stick with Le Creuset or Staub.

Depending on the size you're looking for, there are currently some decent sales for both Le Creuset and Staub Dutch ovens on the Williams-Sonoma and Le Creuset websites. Cuisinart would be my 3rd choice, if money is a strict consideration. Check Home Goods, T.J. Maxx or Marshalls for some very good (below $100) Dutch oven prices. Good luck. [Edit] America's Test Kitchen rated Cuisanart's D.O. as the recommended value D.O. if the LC was too steep for the budget.
