October 23, 2025 - The idea of this Alpha release is to make sure that it still works on all the platforms where it used to work before. We don't exactly know how everyone uses Cura. There may be some actions that you do, which will reveal a bug we didn't see in our tests. There are tons of plugins. So we want to make sure that they keep working with the new version. Well, not much, just download this version, use it as you would usually do, and send a brief feedback on the discussion: describe your environment, and tell us if everything went fine, or if you encountered some crashes or strange behaviours!

December 25, 2022 - UltiMaker Cura 5.3.0-alpha+cura_9879_19 is commonly installed in the C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.3.0-alpha+cura_9879_19 directory, however this location can vary a lot depending on the user's option while installing the program. UltiMaker Cura 5.3.0-alpha+cura_9879_19's complete uninstall command line is C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.3.0-alpha+cura_9879_19\uninstall.exe.

If you are on Windows, your non-networked printers should live in a few resource folders. The most important one is this folder: C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.3.0-alpha-cura9658\share\cura\resources\definitions Can you check what's there instead?

March 13, 2023 - Download the curapackage for 5.0 and newer and drop it onto the buildplate in Cura as if you were loading a 3d model. I have not tested this release on the 5.3 alpha. It could work, or it could break the UI.

July 2, 2023 - One of our Developers took a look and seems to have resolved it here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/pull/14891 Since we plan to release a 5.3.1 with the correct translations, we plan to include this fix as well. Apologies for the inconvenience. More sharing options... ... @Dadkitess, though it is not a direct replacement for a downloaded zip, you can unzip the .exe installer with any decent zip program (I use 7-zip), place its contents anywhere you like, and doubleclick the Ultimaker Cura.exe.
