I’ve been struggling with my Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master for days. Every time I updated the BIOS past version F32, the system would hang on code 02 (sometimes 00 or A9) whenever I tried to enter the BIOS.
Windows would boot fine after a CMOS clear, but I could never access the BIOS setup — it just froze.

I later found out this issue affected many users with BIOS versions F33–F37, especially if certain SATA or RAID configurations were active. My drives were just NVMe SSDs, so that didn’t seem like the cause.

After some trial and error, I updated directly to the latest version (F38e), and now everything works perfectly — I can access the BIOS normally, no POST codes or freezes.

TL;DR:
If your X670E Aorus Master hangs on code 02/00 when entering BIOS after updates, downgrade to F32 or upgrade directly to F38e — that version finally fixes the issue.

No, i can not confirm your experience. never ever had a single problem with that board or any BIOS update, i made several since i own it (August 2023); Actually it is running with F37 because i stay careful with BETA Bios versions like F38e; Running a Ryzen 9 7950X3D and XMP/EXPO at 64GB G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5-6000 DIMM CL30 Dual Kit from the boards QVL without a single issue.

OK so i dont know WTF changed, but swapping back to old ram and trying to use different ram slots seem to have done it. Because the X570 board (and most others i guess) can do single a single dimm of ram in any slot, I tried moving it around, together with me smashing the delete key to get to bios, i finally managed to get it to boot to bios. From there I could slowly add more ram between cycles without any issues. And thanks @laptop-Tech even tho your responses didn't help as intended it was nice getting some quick response that I could work with :)

Hi.

I got my hands on refurbished Supermicro SuperServer 6018U-TR4T+ (MB: X10DRU-i+).

I'm trying to update firmware/BMC and BIOS, but both fail constantly, each tool gives a different error, so I would appreciate anyones input as I'm new to this type of hardware.

What I have done: tested current IPMI functionality- all seems to work (except update), stress tested RAM and CPU - all good, all PCI slots working, so board looks to be in great condition.

Regarding updates I tried:

Updating using BIOS / BMC / Bundle Firmware download

1.1. Using web interface - failed - error: "Can't downgrade to this update package version!"

1.2. Using SUM (1.7.1/2.0.0/2.10 versions) - failed - errors either "Can't downgrade to this update package version!" or "This update package is not compatible with your system configuration"

1.3. Using DOS bootable flash and the software in update ZIP - failed - error "This update package is not compatible with your system configuration"

2. Using just BIOS download, both SUM and WEB return error that I found on reddit and the solution was to update firmware

I have done a CMOS reset, CMOS battery replacement, CPU/RAM removal (keep one from each), changed the ME jumper from 1-2 to 2-3, after each of the tries I tried each of the above mentioned updates - all failed.

I'm really confused by the "downgrade" error, as I'm currently on firmware 03.88 / 02/25/2020 and BIOS 3.2a / 01/29/2020 and I'm trying to install firmware 03.94, so it doesn't seem like a downgrade.

Supermicro says I should not upgrade if there is no problems with firmware, but at this point the fact that I can't upgrade seems to be a problem 😅

I got three systems with these X10DRU-i+ motherboards used, and have run into the exact same problem with the signed BMC firmware and BIOS. However, even after seeing all the dead-ends people have run into with them, just for sh__s & giggle, I emailed SuperMicro tech support. Surprisingly, they sent me signed versions of the BMC firmware and BIOS! The BMC firmware update worked perfectly and brought me up from 3.88 to 4.01. Yay! But unfortunately the BIOS still won't flash and complains about the signature verification. Tech support is still looking into that, but I haven't got a final answer yet why it isn't working. Motherboard might be a Supermicro but it might have a custom firmware/ BIOS. I believe 3.2a is custom. Can used dmidecode to see what manufacturer it says.

New build not going to plan.

Crosshair VIII dark hero mobo 5800X EVGA 3090

Computer turns on and no video out at all. Using a Samsung TV currently. Tried both HDMI and display out and nothing. Tv says no signal when powered on. Computer turns on as does the gpu.

Flashed the BIOS via the usb flash and tried the gpu in 2 different slots. Board gives code 02.

I have this same board, with Asus strix 3080ti. Same code, also updated bios, reseated cables, reseated NVMe. Just to confirm, are you getting solid white VGA led, solid yellow boot Led and QCode 02?

I'm just putting this out there as I recently struggled with the dreaded code of 02. I had to remove my GPU from the computer and connect my DP cable to motherboard. After that, it all booted up fine. I shut down the computer, inserted the and connected up the GPU and then everything was sorted out. Hope this helps someone.
