I'm trying to download all the mods 6, but every time I try it makes it to the validating manifest files and stops, it does this for any 1.16.5 modpack and I cant seem to find a fix.

EDIT: this problem has been resolved thanks to the wonderful Briar Thrain over on the CurseForge discord server. After providing my logs, he said to try repairing my MC installation on CurseForge. On CurseForge, you go to the Minecraft tab, click the three dots next to "Create Custom Profile", and in that menu click repair installation. After doing this, my problem no longer occurs. Hi all! I started having this issue today with the CurseForge launcher that seems to only occur with 1.16.5 modpacks. When I click on download (on ATM6 for instance, since that's the one I'm trying to use), it will say its downloading, validating files, etc, right before getting stuck on "applying patch 2/4" and then switching to "Cancelling installation" with no error message otherwise.

I haven't had this issue before, and in fact, I have used CurseForge specifically for the modpack ive been trying to download in the past with no problems. This seems to occur with ONLY 1.16.5 modpacks, meaning if I want to play ATM6 on 1.16.4 (or any modpack on anything before 1.16.5), I can no problem, or if id like to download anything in 1.17 or newer, I will also have 0 problems.

I have on my desktop 3 different versions of java, those being java 8, 16, and 17, though I think only 8 and 17 are strictly required, and java has never given me an issue on CurseForge like this anyway so I don't think that's it, but please prove me wrong if I am. My default java environment variable points to java 8, and I have custom variables pointing to their respective java executables. (side note, should I be using java.exe or javaw.exe? I've seen both used and I'm not sure)

This issue does not occur with launchers such as MultiMC and GDLauncher, though MultiMC gives me trouble importing modpacks since the whole CurseForge thing happened, and GDLauncher has proven to be extremely slow when downloading, sometimes getting stuck downloading at 99%, so id like to get CurseForge working if i can.

I can provide more information if needed, but as I said I don't receive an error code of any sort. if it comes down to it, do I lose much playing ATM6 on 1.16.4?

I’ve had this recent issue on the app where I can’t play or download mods above 1.16.5. I have tried researching how to fix it and reading people who have had the same experience but I am playing on an iMac so I could never find solutions that worked on my computer.

I have not had issues with curseforge in the past and can’t think of what made this happen. I also tried using Forge and MultiMC, both of which either did not work or was too complicated and I decided that since curseforge is the most simple and has always worked for me, I want to fix this issue. I have deleted and reinstalled curseforge, Minecraft, tried repairing the installation, and nothing has worked. No matter what version or mod or mod pack, if it’s above 1.16.5, this message will appear once is reaches “applying patch 2/6.”
