Hi,
So running my 5600x curve optimizer all cores to negative 22, I saw some videos running negative per core with much lower numbers (5, 10, 15, 5, 10, 5), not sure what I'm doing is right or wrong? should the preferred core have the lowest negative or the highest?

All core negative 22 is a great undervolt. The "per core" undervolting is a much more in depth process (and slightly more time consuming) to target each core for a specific undervolt. The ratio between time spent fine tuning and performance benefits are negligent imo. Especially in your case when you get a stable -22 value. If you were unlucky and get a chip that couldn't go past -10 sure, per core might be the best solution to get everything out of said chip. But since it's not your case, i wouldn't bother with the headache tbh.

If you are doing per core it can be better as some cores may not do as well as others, I'd go that route if you don't mind tinkering. Heres a tool to help you out if a core is not stable. https://github.com/jasonpoly/per-core-stability-test-script/tree/main
I used that tool on my 5900x, works well, but I also found its not a sure thing, I've experienced issues at idle or some weird sound issues that that tool did not catch, and you do want to run that tool for 24 hours if not longer.
But how I do it, I do all core -5 increments, and run that tool for a few hours and go back into bios and -10 and so on until a core throws out an error, then I like to fine tune, like I got one core that doesn't like anything more than -13, most of my others will do -20 to -30.
Can be vary tedious, but that tool can help, the longer you run the better.

Not necessarily better as it's usually just one or two cores that can do somewhat better(lower voltage) which brings almost no gain overall. RM uses much coarser margin of -10 when applying CO voltage so all core are probably within that margin. In BIOS you should be able to set with margins of -01 and so can fine tune better.

Each CCD sharesone voltage rail for all the cores within that ccd. Most people assume that since curve optimizer allows per core offsets then each core has its own dedicated voltage rail for each specific core however this is NOT the case. If 1 or more cores are active (not parked) and they have a different offsets then the SMU will pick the lowest offset of the group and that’s what you will run at. It doesn’t care that every other core is at -60, if you have one core at -5 and all cores are active then the cpu will effectively run as a -5 offset cpu.
Per-core CO helps single/light-thread boost. (Think single core benchmarks, marketing) no modern AAA game runs on 1 or 2 cores, the year is not 1999)
TL/DR: Worst core dominates anything beyond ideal single threaded conditions.

Core Cycler will get you 90% of the way there but it's not the be all, end all of curve optimizer testing as it's still fully loading the individual core that it tests. Once I got my per-core offsets mostly dialed-in using Core Cycler, I simply used the system as normal.

The point of failure would be when PBO tries to get 5ghz+ on them and the lower curve offset may become unstable earlier than later, but be completely fine under all core load at somewhere around 4.8 or 4.9ghz if we're talking about a 7800x3d specifically
