How do I calculate my lawn mowing price?
How do I save money on lawn maintenance?
Lawns can be high maintenance, and therefore require regular spending if you’re not up for doing certain lawn care tasks yourself. But you can save time and money on lawn maintenance by mulching, composting, and planting species native to your area, so they keep alive with less ongoing TLC from you.
How frequently should I mow my lawn?
Every lawn is different, but mowing at least once a week is a good goal to stick to. If you’re seeing a lot of rain, or if you’re fertilizing your grass, you may need to mow as often as every four days. Either way, always follow the one-third rule: Never mow more than one-third of your grass height at once, as this can weaken it and prevent it from taking in all the proper nutrients from the soil.
Hello all! My boyfriend had recently started a grass cutting side business and I feel like he’s undercharging too much. My front lawn and backyard is all stone so i’ve never honestly had experience cutting grass or receiving lawn care myself so I’m not sure how much people typically pay. Last weekend he cut grass that was literally almost knee length for 3 hours with his own equipment, and even brings his own bags to clean up and keep everything tidy so nothing is left a mess. He charged only $40. I personally just feel like he dosent realize how much people are willing to pay for such a service even if he’s not from some big company in the city. When you guys get your grass cut how much do you usually pay? do you usually get charged based off square foot or is it mostly related to the state of your lawn? i’m aware people pay different amounts in different areas in the world but any insight of advice would be very helpful as i’m trying to learn from many different perspectives! thank you :)
photos here are examples of the work he would do for 30-$40
I was wondering if anyone has used a reliable & affordable person to cut their lawn. I am not wanting the expensive large companies & dont need poision & fertilizer dumped all over the place either. Just straight up lawn cutting only. I guess gone are the days when u could find a neighbor kid to do it for $25..lol!
When I needed it a few years ago, the I went out and talked to the crew cutting my neighbor’s yard. I negotiated with them. They’re already there every week. The travel cost is zero for your lawn. You should be able to get $5-$10 off the weekly cut price.
I would imagine some of the lawn services might have areas in town they service to minimize having to drive all over the county. In the Highview/Okolona area I've been using Bladerunners for a couple of years and I haven't had any problems with them -cutting/edging for $35/wk for a .25 acre lot. Figured that's a small price to pay to not get destroyed by my allergies every week.
