Is it normal to not be notified when a same-day prescription delivery has arrived?
CVS/Walgreens Doordash vs Amazon Same Day Delivery
If you have free same day delivery from Amazon, I’d definitely go with Amazon. Plus, with DD shop and delivers, if the item is out of stock in store you’re going to get a substitution or you’re going to get refunded. Just my take.

Is CVS Same-Day Delivery Even Reliable?
Some backstory: i was running low on one of my prescriptions and when I went to refill, realized it had been refilled a week prior but shipped by standard post to the wrong address. I’d received no emails or notification about this shipment. As I only had a single day worth of pills left, I rushed to CVS and the pharmacist was very nice putting in a lost prescription override and such, but needed my doctor to submit a refill as the mis-shipped one had been my last refill.
Doctor takes until 10pm that night to get back to me, not my favorite but he does fill it. This morning, I requested same-day delivery as soon as my script was ready for pick-up (as I wasn’t able to go in today to get it myself), but would be home to receive the delivery.
I’m on the first floor of a pretty big apartment building, right by the entrance, so I hear a lot of knocking. After hearing the first sound, I ignored it but got up to check when it came again. No one was at my door or even at my window, so I assumed it was nothing (it still may have been, to be fair).
A couple minutes later, I check my phone and see that the prescription had shipped around the same time I heard the knock, so I popped up to go wait for it, only to see out my window a man going back to his car with a CVS bag.
I crack open the window and try to call out to him but he doesn’t hear me and drives off.
During this whole ordeal, the only time I received a notification for either shipment was that it had been picked up from CVS for today’s delivery. I never received any notification about the delivery driver approaching let alone being there, and was never even called for delivery — a usually very routine practice for deliveries that require you to be present to receive.
Is this normal? I usually just ship my mail through standard post or pick it up, but I’m pretty sure the few times I’ve done same-day deliver, I’d been called before, and can confirm that I’d received next notifications about the order when it arrived.
