Melter requires a heat source underneath, such as a Seared Tank, which can be filled with lava. To extract items, you need a Faucet (3 seared bricks in a -_- pattern, if i remember) and a casting table or casting basin. I recommend both, since you need a table to make sapling but a basin for blocks. I also recommend using the melter to upgrade to a full size Smeltery, asap, by melting Cobblestone into Seared Bricks. I've been trying to use it to make the liquid XP, however, no matter how hard I try, it will not get hot enough/able to create it. I placed the ingredients in the right slots as stated too. There was only one other thread online about this, but it was dead and had no answers that really helped.

How do I use the melter and set it up properly? Also how to get the fluids out? I put mine about a pool of lava to get max heat to burn the acacia wood for amber, but it's full now and I dont know how to get the amber out to turn into crystalized amber. The info button for the melter is very vague.

Melter requires a heat source underneath, such as a Seared Tank, which can be filled with lava. To extract items, you need a Faucet (3 seared bricks in a -_- pattern, if i remember) and a casting table or casting basin. Does anyone know how to make this thing work?
I've got it placed over a lava source and it'll melt single items but it won't do the more complex recipes like for crystalized obsidian.
Is this because the heat level isn't high enough? Currently, for my melter, its heat is at 2 and I don't know how to increase it beyond that.
Please help :(
edit: I actually figured out that the blocks were in the wrong spots.
it actually needed to be:

I wanted to make some liquid xp for a small amount of blitz powder, so i used the melter from cyclic. I made the liquid xp, but i can't get it out of the melter. I tried it with Mekanism mechanical pipes and fluiduct but it's not working. Can anybody help me?

Did you try cyclic pipes? Or just hitting it with a bucket? That is, assuming you've got 1000mb or more. Also with the mek pipes, did you actually configure them to pull from the melter? Any pipe should work, so long as they can pull from an inventory.

If it's a bucket worth of liquid you can just slap down the bucket on the casting table and click the drain, it will pour around the bucket till it is full then bam, the bucket is full.

I am trying to make lava by melting obsidian, but 2 things are happening. The heat is not high enough so it melts super slow. (image 1). Also, if there is obsidian in more than one slot in the melter, it stops melting completely. (Image 2). I saw a post saying how to increase heat by surrounding the melter in lava but this did not work for me. (image 3) Someone please help me, as I would love to get this working soon!
edit: just noticing now that the images are reversed, so 1 is 3 etc.

One quick question beforehand, if what you are trying is to produce lava (assuminly to power a geothermal generator) why aren't you using a cauldron and cobblestone? You get way more lava that way and with less resources

The melter is weird,if the recipe in jei says obsidian in only one slot that's what you're stuck with. You can use a stack at once at best
