Hi!! Does anyone know if the Dagne Dover Daily Tote ever goes on sale? Just wondering if I should just buy it now.
Also, if anyone knows a close dupe I would appreciate it!! Thank you :)
Hi! Looking for literally any similar bag, doesn’t even need to be cheaper (but hopefully not any more expensive than this one) of the Dagne Dover Mara Phone Sling bag. It’s sold out in black and beige which are the colors I want. If anyone knows of anything similar, please let a sis know 🙌
Note: I know Lulu has one similar but I don’t like the athletic look, I want a chic looking purse.

Just saw the new Dagne Dover travel collection. Really interested in the large convertible duffle. Their stuff usually looks like a diaper bag to me, but this collection actually looks good. Anyone else have opinions? https://www.dagnedover.com/collections/travel-carry-on-edit
Any thoughts or experiences on the brand Dagne Dover? Construction, leather and durability?
I've been on a co op to help pay for college and I'm going back in the spring for my senior year so I've been looking for a day to day school bag. I can't spend too much money on a Dagne Dover (which I so desperately want). Are there any cheaper alternatives?
I don't care for longchamp bags since I carry a bunch of stuff and the Longchamp would become a black hole of stuff.
Edit: Im prepared to spend up to $100, $150 if i really really love it.
I recently ordered the all day neoprene backpack from Quince. It came in today and I’m frustrated that the external side pockets barely fit a water bottle. This is supposed to be a dupe for Dagne dover Dakota backpack so I’m curious if anyone has that backpack (in any of the sizes) and if the water bottle pockets are anymore functional on that, I’d love an external pocket for my water bottle (not a huge water bottle)

Hi friends!
I've been on a journey to find the perfect travel bag for a while now, and about a year ago, I discovered the Dagne Dover Petra Convertible Tote.
I love the design of this bag and have been eager to purchase it for over six months. However, I have some reservations. The fabric looks a bit cheap, and I'm not familiar with Dagne Dover's quality beyond their well-known neoprene bags.
Has anyone bought this bag? How is the fabric quality? Is it worth the $285 USD price tag?
What I really love about this bag is its versatility: I can wear it as a crossbody or as a backpack. I'm looking for a bag that I can use as both my work backpack and my personal travel bag when I reach my destination. The Petra Convertible Tote meets these criteria, as it fits my 16-inch laptop and has both backpack and crossbody straps.
Can anyone recommend a similar bag? My main requirements are that it fits my laptop and has both backpack straps (bonus if they can be hidden like on this one) and a hands-free option.
I appreciate any help you can offer!
I love the style of the indi diaper backpack but I’m wondering if it’s worth it. They are having a sale right now which is the only reason I am considering grabbing one.
For those that have one, do you love it or hate it? Do you have the medium or large size, and what would you recommend? Give me all the details!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone has these bags and which one they prefer?
Thanks!
Looking for a diaper bag that’s functional, aesthetically pleasing, unisex, and not a fortune. I’ve heard about caraaway but don’t want to spend $400 on a diaper bag. Any other recs or is this going to be impossible to find?
I love this subreddit and did an extensive search of reviews/comments/suggestions for work bags that fit my criteria and I came up empty. Basically, I wanted the chic styling of the dagne dover with the low weight and easy organization of the OMG. Oh, and I wanted to pay about $100.
It turns out this was a near-impossible quest but I found one bag that fit my criteria. It's not perfect, but I've been really happy with it: the Kenneth Cole 'Call it a night' bag.
It has padded compartments that fit my laptop (and a separate one for a tablet or small notebook), a bigger compartment with zippered side pockets on the inside and outside. It has wide-ish straps to distribute weight (they are not the comfiest ever, but they work), and it has a strap to slip over your carryon (the velcro is annoying, though). It has pronged feet to protect the bottom of the bag, structure and is really lightweight but looks much more professional (imo) than the OMG. The bag itself also zips shut, which is great for security of items/snow/etc.
Mods, let me know if this isn't the right way to post about the bag. I wasn't sure where to post about the bag b/c I didn't want it to get buried and I wanted others who were looking for bags to be able to search and find this easily since I was on the hunt for a month for the 'perfect' bag and I went through a number of different posts on here trying to find one. I hope this helps!
I'm including the [ebags link] (http://www.ebags.com/product/kenneth-cole-reaction-business-and-luggage/call-it-a-night-16-computer-tote/298867) because it has the best interior pictures of the bag, but I actually got mine (cheaper) on Amazon.
Just wondering if anyone has found a good dupe for the Dagne Dover Medium Daily Tote? I wanted to find something I could buy local as I need it ASAP. Tried to find the Kate Spade Chelsea Large based on other threads but appears it’s no longer made.
Must have features are zip closure, water bottle holder, organization, luggage sleeve, medium size. I need something to use daily to/from work not also can travel with periodically. Thank you for any suggestions!
Ever since getting the DD phone sling during the Rouge Celebration at Sephora I’ve been a bit obsessed with the brand. Went to a Runway store this morning and found the backpack! Did I need it? No. Did I purchase? YES!!! 🩷💙 Retails for 215.00. TJMaxx price? 99.00.

In yesterday’s Recent Purchases thread, I posted about my purchase of the Dagne Dover Tote in Dagne Blue. Since this is a relatively new company and product, a lot of people were interested in a more thorough review of the bag, which I’m happy to provide!
I had been using a large Longchamp Le Pliage tote to carry my laptop (13.8” wide x 9.13” long x1.18” deep, with an extra inch of battery tacked onto the length), my large Lilly Pulitzer agenda, a padfolio, pencil pouch, bag for my electronics cords, emergency lady kit, wallet, keys, phone, and whatever else I could cram in there. It looked like a black hole, and I wasn’t super pleased with the quality - I’d had an older Longchamp for almost 5 years that had held up great, but my new one had developed holes in all four corners within a year. It also got dingy quickly, was difficult to keep clean of stains, and the thin handles put a great deal of pressure on my shoulder and led to back pain. It clearly wasn’t working, but I hadn’t found an appealing, quality alternative that could fit my work computer (most are sized to accomodate MacBook Pros - a Kate Spade SA suggested I could take my battery out each time I wanted to store my tote, which I did not find a viable option for obvious reasons).
I first learned about Dagne Dover in August from one of my favorite bloggers, The College Prepster. I loved the color, and that Carly vouched for its utility - with all that I have to schlep around every day, built-in organization that’s not at the cost of aesthetics is a huge deal to me. I did some digging into the company, and was really impressed with what I found. Dagne Dover was founded by two young women who were earning their MBAs at Wharton and identified the lack of attractive, functional bags for women as a major pain point. With past work experience that bridged the finance/business and fashion worlds, they worked with an accessories designer who won the 2011 Coach Accessories Design Competition to create two products - a tote and a clutch/wallet for women suffering from this pain point.
At this point, I was drinking the Kool-Aid - I even recommended the bag as an option several times on FFA for those looking for a school/work bag in the price point. However, I was uncomfortable taking the plunge and making the purchase without handling one first - difficult, since they’re an online-only operation with occasional pop-ups and trunk shows, almost entirely out of NYC. Thankfully, a trunk show was planned for DC, and I made the trek to check them out in person.
The bags are absolutely stunning in person. I love each color, and ideally would love something in the Bleecker Blush or Hudson Blue, but was concerned about how well the color of the leather would hold up over time. The body of the bag is made of a thick, coated, cross-hatched canvas that almost resembles Saffiano leather. Here is an image (all images are from the Dagne Dover website, unless otherwise noted). While I haven’t had any accidents, the material on the body of the bag is easy to wipe clean or spot-treat as needed. The handles and included key strap are thicker than Longchamp’s and are dyed to match each canvas bag perfectly. The bag is 20 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 10 inches tall. It is very stiff, and holds its shape even when empty. The handle drop is 9.5 inches, which I have found to be a happy medium between being hand-held, draped in the crook of your elbow, and worn over the shoulder. The bag is equipped with a zipper top which does not run the entire length of the top opening - there is a slight gap on each end to allow for the bag to collapse or expand to fit as much or as little as you need. Enclosed is a leather strap, which matches the handles, that serves as a key fob - it actually is long enough to fish out and use to unlock your door while you’re wearing the bag. The strap is embossed with the brand’s name. All accents on the bags are gold - zippers (which are long hexagonal prisms bearing the “DAGNE DOVER” name on one face - these, along with the key strap, are the only signs of branding whatsoever), keyfob clips, and four small D-rings that can be used to clip the keyfob to (two each on the inside and the outside).I really have no complaints about the bare bones of the bag - it looks lovely, has no defects, and is easy to care for.
The interior is where things get truly interesting. Here is a bird’s-eye view (from their website) of the interior of the bag. Working down from the top of that photo, the first pocket (hidden by the upper zipper flap) is a laptop sleeve. I have tried this with all three of my computers and have found that it accommodates a 13” MacBook Pro, the aforementioned 14” Lenovo T430, and a 14” Dell Latitude. With the additional length from the battery of my Lenovo, the magnetic strap made to hold the computer in place does not fully close where it is intended to, but this is not a concern for me. With less bulky computers, or ones without huge extra batteries tacked onto the back, the strap and sleeve work perfectly.
On the exterior of the laptop sleeve is a tablet pocket (you can see it holding a small notebook in the enclosed image). This is about a centimeter too short to accommodate a full-sized legal pad but is a great size for a Moleskine notebook, planner, iPad/Kindle/Nook, etc. I use mine for my agenda and a small notepad to jot things down. There are three lipgloss/pen pockets, a phone pocket, and a small card pocket (for a Metro card, ID, business cards, etc.) on the outer edge of the tablet pocket. The phone pocket accommodates an iPhone fine - if you have concerns about it fitting a specific model of phone, know that it’s likely too small to hold some of the larger Android phones. Their team is very responsive on Twitter, Facebook, etc. if you have a question about a specific phone fitting well.
The center portion of the bag has an insulated sleeve that can be used to hold a water bottle or umbrella - I find that it’s great at keeping any condensation from my bottle from getting on the rest of the contents of my bag, and that the material of the bag itself can be wiped dry rather than getting soaked regardless. Really neat feature, and it saves you from having to wrap a bottle in a paper towel or a koozie every time you leave the house. I use the center portion of the bag to hold my pencil pouch, the cords for all of my electronics, and my portfolio.
On the other side of the center portion is an additional tablet-sized pocket, which conceals a zippered pocket. I use the tablet pocket for my wallet and miscellany, and the zippered pocket for more “personal” things - medication, feminine products, and anything I don’t want visible or floating around in my bag.
I am SO happy with this bag. I find that it is so rare to find something that is beautifully made, sturdily constructed, highly functional, minimally branded, and comfortable to wear/carry - in fact, I’ve yet to find something else that fills this niche. I adore that the brand is small enough that the owners are still accessible (all three of the founders were present at the event I attended, and are very responsive on social media to questions/fanmail) and that, as a customer, your concerns and desires feel important and heard. I also love that they’re founded and owned by young women.
They’ve just released their fall colorways, but I got a sneak peek at some of the holiday designs - I’m not entirely sure if these will be available for the totes as well as the clutches, but they’re absolutely lovely and tasteful - which I understand will be available around the end of the month.
If you’re interested in a Dagne Dover bag, you can find their accounts all over the Internet - their Facebook page has tons of gorgeous photos, their Twitter account has answers to every question you could have, and their Pinterest is chock-full of interesting inspiration.
If you have any additional questions or would like specific measurements of anything, I’m happy to provide them as I can!
