I have every size of the Landon at this point. I personally love them and use each size for different things. They’re super versatile. With heavy use, the neoprene will start to pill. Certain colors don’t show it as much but if you plan to use it a lot you may want to invest in a fabric shaver from Amazon. The Dagne Dover bags aren’t waterproof at all and will get watermarks on them easily. Luckily, they are easy to clean. The medium Landon is my daily driver work bag. I love it for work, but didn’t like the size for travel. My recommendation would be to go with a large or bigger. I love all of the pockets & pouches it comes with. More on reddit.com

Looks like United’s dimensions are 9x10x17 and the medium is 14.5L x 7.5W x 9H. I took the medium on an international trip last year and it fit on European budget flights. The large should fit on most American domestics. More on reddit.com

Don't know if she would want a back pack or not, but I have a Swiss gear that I love. Use it for my personal item all the time, the padded portion that goes against your back has a tight loop that makes it fill your lumbar area and it slides right onto the raised handle of my carry-on roller. It's got tons of pockets, including an RF secure one. Good luck!
