Hiya! I recently sold on my previous work tote as it was no longer sparking joy and am in the market for a new one. I generally only buy leather. I was considering the Coach Maggie which I love the look of but it doesn’t have as much internal organization as I’d ideally like.
I was looking at a couple of Dagne Dover’s, the Daily Tote and the Classic Tote. Normally I would never buy vegan leather but other than that these bags check all the boxes for me. If you have either of these bags can you let me know what you think and how the material has held up? I have the DD Wade diaper bag which is their neoprene material so I do like their quality in general, I’m just having a hard time getting past the vegan leather!

I’ll post a pic when I get home, but the material on the handles completely fell apart and frayed after like 6 months. I was so disappointed because it is functionally a great bag.

Daily Tote nails the pockets you want, but its vegan leather is the weak link-surface scratches and corner wear show fast if you commute hard. The Classic’s thicker body scuffs less yet feels stiff, and its center zip makes grabbing gear a pain. Both wipe clean and the light lining is nice, but the handles start peeling around year one if you overload them. If real hide matters, check full-grain options that pack sleeves: Cuyana’s System Tote has clip-in pouches, and Madewell’s Zip-Top Transport with an insert keeps things tidy. I’ve bounced between the Cuyana for office days and the Lo & Sons Seville when I travel, but Latico Leathers’ Bianca became my daily because the leather breaks in instead of breaking down. Bottom line: pick DD only if interior organization outranks long-term durability; otherwise pay a bit more for real leather and skip the worry.
