Any experience working on this brand? What are your opinions? Thanks in advance.
So my father bought an split AC, 2 years ago in March of 2022. Under the normal terms and Conditions the company would fix any part of it if the AC stops working until April of 2023 cause that's when the warrenty expires. Anyway cut short to January 2023 the AC stops cooling after numerous calls to customer care they finnally reach out to us in February and took several visit to rule out the problem and almost took another month to fix it. There was a leak in the coil so they had to change the whole inside unit, well when doing that the guy out of spite dropped the plastic tray which is necessary to collect water from the AC. The very same day at night the AC starts to leak water from the corner on to the mattress and when I woke up in the morning one side of the bed was completely drenched (had to change throw it out cause it was ruined) so the very next day i again raised a complaint about the leaking AC on 27th to which they came on 28th and inspected and approved that the tray was broken, I took the service completion paper (it's a paper on which they write who came to visit date time signature and name) So my complaint about the AC was well within the warrenty period but after that visit they just purposely waited it out and avoided taking my calls for the next 2 weeks when the warrenty ended they called us again and asked stright up money for the broken part stating that now the unit is out of warranty even through I made the complaint weeks before it ended. After this the AC couldn't be used and due to some medical issues in my family i wasn't able to keep up because every time I did they would just cut my call whenever I tried to reach the head guy of the service center. So for the better part of the last year that AC was just kept as a show piece and even the company wasn't interested of contacting us even after trying to file the issue every time to them.
Well Cut to last week I lodged a complaint against Daikin in the Indian consumer forum and within 2 hours of it I get a call from Daikin's Grievance Team asking me about the issue after explaining it to them, they sent an another team on the same day to check the unit again and in the Lastest visit the guy said the unit is shutting on and off and on the service paper said Unit not working. 2 days ago I get a call from their office saying that you still have to pay for the part since it's out of warranty, I was busy with some work and couldn't talk at the moment anyway I just said that i wouldn't be paying them since I raised the issue while the AC was in warrenty and won't be taking down the case from the consumer forum and disconnected the call. There was no further updates about it after that but yesterday 2 men came from Daikin with parts and wanted to start the repair but due to a power shortage in the building they said they'll come today to fix it
My Question is
-
Should I let the fix the AC now or should I wait till the case goes on in the consumer forum ?
-
Will letting them fix it now would later on make my case invalid and deny me my compensation?
-
And if I do let them fix, I would like to ask them to change whole unit since it's an electronic machine i reckon it would shut down within few months since it's already showing signs
Please give me some insights about this cause it's my first time dealing with such type of scenario.
In 2016 I bought a high seer Daikin central air system, paid over $12k. The unit worked great until this year when the 6 y.o. compressor failed. "No worries" I think. I have a 12 year parts/labor warranty. I was so wrong. My AC was out over 2 weeks with 100+ degree weather. The warranty division of Daikin/Goodman told me they couldn't help, that I needed to call one of the dealers on their website. I did that but none of them would call me back. I later found out why. Their warranty payout rates are so pitiful that the dealers don’t want the work. So if it’s not the dealer that installed it, they’re not going to touch it. I finally found a guy that was willing to do the legwork to find a replacement unit and install it. It cost me ~$1400 but he was worth every penny. Everything these days seems like a scam or sham.
