I need one of these coolers for a build to cool a 13600k cpu. The Peerless Assassin is around £40 whereas the Dark Rock is £80. Ive heard that the dark rock is better and quiter, but i'm not sure if its worth twice the price. Ill be using this rig for mainly 3d modelling and video editing with some occasional gaming.

hopefully you have not bought one yet but i just watched this video and basically according to this video the PA120 SE is the winner by a large margin compared to the Dark Rock Pro 4 The only other cooler that beat it is the Noctua D15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgGaEZjb5Ls check this video out it was pretty good TL;DR Dark Rock is bad. PA120 SE is good. Noctua D15 is best but not by much mostly just silent gains at the price of increased cost.

Hello everyone, I’m building my first pc and need an upgrade for air cooler from the AMD stock cooler. I have researched and narrowed down to these 3 air cooler choices: - Dark Rock Pro 4 (used): 50$ - AK620 (new): 85$ + tax - Peerless Assassin 120 (new):42$ + tax

My specs are:

CPU: AMD 3900x
GPU: RX 5700XT
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro with 2 140mm Noctua A14 (intake) + 3 120mm Noctua F12 (1 intake + 2 exhaust) + 1 140mm Fractal Venturi HF14 (exhaust)

I only uses my PC for programming and gaming like csgo, league of legends, forza, escape from tarkov...

I would love to hear your opinion. Thank you so much for your helps!

The best one is the cheapest one, because they all perform about the same. Dark Rock Pro 4 is the quietest one. Peerless Assassin 120 will keep it the coolest. AK620 is arguably the best looking.

They’ll all be more than sufficient in keeping the CPU efficiently cooled.
