My experience with Apple magic keyboards is that after a few days of typing (tech authoring / coding etc.) my fingers hurt as the travel of the keys is tiny… so I can't avoid bottoming out with every keypress... so jolting my finger joints as I type. On the other hand, I can type for days with my mechanical keyboards. It's much easier to avoid bottoming out with these, so I don't get that repeated jarring on my joints each time I press a key. I have a Das Keyboard with blues at home. I love the feel but it's too loud for the office. I also have a Ducky with browns at home and love that. At work I have an ancient broadcast control keyboard from Devlin that I rescued from a skip. It has browns, but they're quieter as they've been well used. On the subject of noise, your mechanical keyboard will sound much quieter to your colleagues if you can teach yourself to avoid bottoming out. That's where most of the click comes from if you've got browns. Once you feel you're past the activation point, you don't need to press further. Your joints will thank you too. In summary: Magic Keyboard is like running. Feels good, but you won't go far before your joints ache. Mechanical keyboards are like cycling. Feels great, you can type all day without pain but there's a tiny learning curve to avoid bottoming out. Best of luck with your decision :) More on reddit.com

I use a DAS keyboard for my Windows machine at work, and I love it. But I would never use one with a Mac. I like the Mac keyboard quite a bit, both in terms of functionality and looks. If only Apple made a wireless keyboard with a num pad.

It's a very mehhh keyboard for a lot of money. It's missing a lot of features either mac enthusiasts or mechanical keyboard enthusiast want which are available for a lot less. For example: backlighting (not even RGB), a more "Apple" color theme, More replaceable parts like switches.... etc... This is a firm no from me... not even for a quarter of the listed price. Hey Keyboard Experts!
I'm new here and I look for the advice on what keyboard to buy.
I decided to put my MacBook on a laptop stand and therefore I need a keyboard.
My Requirements:
I need Mac-specific keys on the keyboard as this will make my life way easier with the programs I use.
I write a lot - programming
From the opinions I researched till now, I'm wondering between Das Keyboard for Mac that has awesome reviews and Apple Magic Keyboard 2 - a standard choice for macs.
I read a lot about the mechanic switch types (and I even bought a switch tester) and I adore the blue clicky sound and feel, but unfortunately, they are so loud that they will kill me in my office if I S use those. So I'd rather go with the brown ones.
But before I make a purchase I decided to go and ask a community that has much more insight on that term than I do. Maybe you can suggest even better options that I've found till now.
Any advice? :)

I suggest taking a look at what Keychron offers. They target Mac users. Definitely better than a magic keyboard.

When I go into the "Show Keyboard Viewer", the keyboard is recognized as a US Standard layout, and an Apple keyboard as well (meaning it doesn't "see" the numpad). You can see it's a US standard keyboard, as the Enter key is horizontal, and the left Shift key is wider.
