r/AWSCertifications on Reddit: AWS certifications for someone who’s in data science
June 5, 2021 -
I’m a newbie in cloud. I have no fundamental knowledge of how cloud works but I want to transition into cloud since companies now want data scientists/ data engineers who know cloud. I’m planning to do the cloud practitioner certification to begin with however I’ve heard that it’s not worth doing from many people. What do you guys think? Also what other certifications can I do which will add value and help me land a job in data science?

It depends a lot on your background ... you say you have no knowledge of cloud, but if you have existing IT experience (work/academic etc) then the practitioner will be a waste of time for you. In terms of your path towards data science ... this is a longer answer I'll start by saying don't think of things as certs ... certs are just things, they help provide a structure to study along, but the cert itself is meaningless. In terms of study path i would recommend... you want to end up at the data/data analytics and ML specialist certs - these are well regarded in the industry and so will 1) get you interviews and 2) help you learn the correct things you need. To get there ... the most efficient way is SAA->SAP->Specs You could start with the specs, but thats not ideal as they relay on knowledge you will gain at the associate and professional level. SO that would be my suggestion oh and full disclosure (not that it should matter based on my answers above) i do create AWS courses at https://learn.cantrill.io ... i dont have a cloud practitioner course, i do have SAA/SAP, i do not have those specialties (i mention this so you can read my reply above, with that context in mind)

I think you should skip the Cloud Practitioner and go straight for the Solution Architect Associste. After you have a good understanding of AWS, you can go for the Data Analytics speciality cert.

Getting Data Science / ML Certified across Azure, AWS and GCP
July 5, 2021 - Congratulations, you've come this far, you feel like you challenged yourself and proved to yourself that you're a good Data Scientist, and one who knows how to do ML at scale in that. But does the journey have to end just with that feeling? This is where post exam community and benefits come in. I did not find any for Azure and hence an area that Azure has an opportunity to improve in. GCP maintains a Google Cloud Certified Directory which maintains a focussed list and view of all the GCP certified professionals.

Which AWS certification provides the most benefits for a data scientist? (For someone who has AWS CCP. Also great if you can share the level of difficulty of the certification.) - Quora
Answer: I cannot comment on the difficulty, but data science skills alone (R/Python/Pandas) is insufficient. The test candidate would also need familiarity with AWS services. That said, a data science background is also required - not all the questions are purely about AWS, a substantial fraction...
