Tip: David’s Bridal dresses look so much better in person.
Did anyone order bridesmaids dresses from David’s bridal? How was the experience, alterations and quality of the dresses? I’m considering David’s Bridal or Azazi. I want to be able to keep the cost of the dresses including alterations in the $150-$180 range for bridesmaids if it’s possible.
What is it like shopping for bridesmaids at David's nowadays?

This isn’t a full endorsement of David’s Bridal as they do have their issues, but they actually do have a lot of gorgeous gowns.
However, the way they shoot things on their website misrepresents a lot of the dresses and makes them look a lot more drab than they are. There were so many DB dresses that I would have never considered shopping for online because of the way they photograph.
Almost every dress looked better on me than the models, and this is NOT because of anything special about me. The dresses also looked far better on the other customers, and look better in the review photos. They get a lot of shit but if your dress budget is under $1k, I recommend them as your first stop.
I'm standing up in a wedding next year and the bride would like us all to go dress shopping together. We have two places to go to this Saturday - Bella Bridesmaids and David's Bridal.
I'm a little worried about Bella's - their website is difficult to navigate precisely and most of the decent looking dresses are nearing $300... If you've shopped at a Bella's, let me know how it went!
Looking at David's website, their bridesmaids dresses are all more cost effective but it says no sizes are available of anything online. Is that just a website situation, or is it bare bones in the remaining stores too?
Decided to use David’s Bridal for my bridesmaids since they could go into a store near them and try on dresses and find their size. BIG MISTAKE. My maid of honor went to try on and was told the color I picked was being discontinued (this was news to me)
I called customer service to ask, and was told the color should be around for a while so I’d be fine. A week or two later my other bridesmaid went into a different store and was also told the color was discontinued and once the fabric was gone that was that. I spoke to CS again and they couldn’t confirm or deny, so we went ahead and ordered fast.
My maid of honor placed an order in May with a promised delivery date of July 11. That date passed, and not only did the dress not arrive, but she received no updates. I called customer service and was told the delay was because it was a “special” style, but that it would arrive by July 22. We were never told it was a special style.
On July 17, with no update, I followed up again and was now told it would ship the next day, July 18. By the end of the 18th, we still had no update. When we reached out again, we were informed the dress was now delayed until July 29—without any explanation.
To make things more confusing, my maid of honor spoke with another rep around the same time who said the dress was in stock, packaged, and simply awaiting UPS pickup and upgraded to next day shipping. I asked if they could provide a tracking number then if the shipping label was created and they said no. It’s now 4 days later and the dress still hasn’t shipped. Every time I call I’m on hold for 45 minutes and get told there’s no update.
On top of this, another bridesmaid ordered a dress 7 weeks ago expected to arrive this week, and we’ve received no updates on that order either - only that it’s still “processing" and I have an additional bridesmaid who is waiting for a dress that isn't set to be delivered until the 20th of August.
I called back yesterday after being on hold for almost an hour and was told that it’s up to the warehouse when they decide to ship the items and all they can do is submit requests and I should wait 9 more business days for an update. On top of that, she told me they actually can’t guarantee items will get delivered by the delivery date they show you when you check out. Spent another hour on hold with customer service trying to get my remaining bridesmaids dresses cancelled so we can go with Azazie instead.
Every time you talk to customer service they just give you vague answers and tell you it’ll ship soon. I have read many reviews online of other brides with the exact same issue and the dress comes months late or never shows up. The lack of communication, conflicting information, and overall uncertainty surrounding these orders is unacceptable!!!!
