I've set my two kids up with Greenlight cards and it's been a nightmare. The app is cumbersome, and there is no web site to use. I'm having three specific issues right now and I'm getting ready to email customer service about them. Opening a cash app account as a minor (under 18) requires your parents to sponsor your account. If your parent doesn’t use cashapp and doesn’t want to then you’re out of luck. Many banks offer free checking accounts for teens with no minimum balance. Open one at the same place where you do your own banking. Add yourself as an authorized signer, so you can see the account when you login and can easily transfer money back and forth. The spending limit is then simply how much money is in the account.
