The TDP of i7 13700 KF is 150W and the TDP of Deepcool AS500 is 220W. TDPs for coolers are even more arbitrary and useless than TDPs on CPUs. For gaming loads it'll be... barely adequate. If you're planning on hitting all core loads then absolutely not. If your budget is high enough for an i7 you can spend $40 on a Peerless Assassin. Answer from VoraciousGorak on reddit.com

March 19, 2024 - The frustrating. If the fans ever need to be replaced, you may have to contact DeepCool, since you can't buy the fans normally. The fan clips are 120mm, but the fans are 140mm with 120mm corners. Unlike Noctua, DeepCool won't send 140mm fan clips. Noctua NF-A15s are not compatible with this cooler.

I originally posted in r/Intel but the automod said this reddit may be better...

I currently have an Intel 12600K cooled by a Deepcool AS500 PLUS. I just bought a 14700K and want to know if this cooler should be sufficient...? I do software development on Linux and play games on Windows.

Hi guys, built my first PC a couple of years ago and have upgraded it once already. Recently was given a new DeepCool AS500 CPU cooler by a family member as I've been looking for a new one, because my current one (don't know the brand, it's some random Chinese one and it's the only component where I didn't spend loads of time picking it) overlaps my RAM slots.

I currently have Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM on an Aorus Z490 Elite AC motherboard and would like to upgrade to get more RAM, but I can't right now because of the CPU cooler. The new cooler was quite pricey, but because I didn't buy it I'm not sure if it will fit. I'm also not sure if the motherboard makes a difference.

So, my question is does anyone have experience with this? I'm really hoping it allows me to have a RAM upgrade, not that I currently need one but for the future.

Thanks!

August 10, 2022 -

Relevant System Specs:

MB: Gigabyte Aorus X570 Pro Wifi

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X

Case: NZXT H510 Elite

So I just wanted to post this since nowhere else has a confirmation, but this fan will fit and also it does a great job! This case gets a bad reputation for cooling, but it's also a really clean and attractive case. I've never had any issues thus far, however I'll be upgrading to a hotter GPU, so I was testing out some improved cooling options for my CPU just in case my box temps went up from the new GPU.

The stock AMD Cooler is a whiny little jet engine that overcorrects and so you'll hear the RPM ramp up quickly, which cools the temp rapidly and then it panics and jumps back down. Playing with the fan curve doesn't seem to help as every 5% or so creates a noticeable pitch change.

The fan itself states that it requires 164mm of clearance and the H510 Elite has 165mm, so I was concerned because I don't know how standardized things like motherboard spacing is, etc. It fits just fine, so if you're one of the 50 people that will google this over the next couple of years, you are welcome. Also, being a single tower means it doesn't have any RAM clearance issues, which is always nice not to have to factor in.

The first thing I noticed is that this cooler is QUIET. Stress testing my CPU with the old cooler brought me rapidly up to 85°C, but now I barely crack 78°C, so I'll take that.

The standard AS500 and the Plus are basically the same, but the Plus comes with a second fan. I don't know if it helps much, but I figured for $10, why not?

Highly recommend if you're looking for an upgrade, I just picked mine up for $55 on Amazon on sale, normally it's around $70. It looks good too, comes with a little hint of RGB that isn't ostentatious, but still gives you a little accent if you want a hint of color.

November 16, 2022 -

Hey guys, I just received my DeepCool AS500 PLUS yesterday and installed it. everything went smoothly and it looks way more badass.

Temps are way better than Cooler master H410, Idle temp is around 23-25C compared to 30-30C on the Cooler master H410.

Load temps with cinebench r23 running for around 10 mins is way better with the AS500P :

Load temps with CM H410 is around 82-85C at 125W stock PL

Load temps with with Deepcool AS500p is around 65-74C,,,where there is around 9c core temps difference between the coolest and hottest cores.i'm honestly not sure if its mounting issue? or should i ignore it and consider it normal even though i think 9c deference is not normal.

Thanks,,

Edit: Im talking about core temps difference between the P cores BTW.

r/buildapc on Reddit: DeepCool AS500 vs DeepCool AS500 Plus on Ryzen 7 5800x3d
October 30, 2022 -

So I bought recently ryzen 7 5800x3d but temperatures I have are rather high with my AIO (60-70 idle).

I decided to go with Air cooler again but I can't decided which one. At first I thought about Noctua NH-D15 but I found DeepCool AS500.

The problem is I don't see any difference between as500 and as500 plus except for one fan and here it's like 20$ difference in price between those 2.

Anyone could give any advice on that one?

May 14, 2022 - The less than ideal. The unit I received had QC issues. DeepCool wasn't helpful. I had to force the issue with Amazon. The frustrating (for non-Plus owners). You really want the Plus model. The second fan makes a huge difference. You won't be able to easily upgrade.

Hi guys,

Recently purchased this cooler for my 5800x 3D and found it really easy to install but noticed that it came with x4 3M pads, however there is no mention of these in the manual so I’m not clear where to put them. I’m guessing they’re anti-vibration pads for the fans but as there’s only 4 how do I use them for the 8 mounting points for the fans? Put x2 on opposite mounting corners of each fan? Also is it safe for the rubber pads to be in contact with the heat sink?

Here are the pads in question:

Would appreciate someone enlightening me.

Hey guys. I have someone helping me build my build but they said my CPU cooler (on title) is not compatible with my AM5 socket. I’m using a Aorus B650 Elite ax motherboard. They couldn’t mount it and they called me in to check it out. I was able to mount it but they are saying that the way I mounted is risky because it’s touching parts of the motherboard. Is it true or it’s perfectly fine how I did it.

November 8, 2022 - On 13600k or less, it is good enough where temps are running mid 70s on full load with fans running at 75%. In gaming, it can do around high 60s at 50% fan speeds. With those settings, my GPU fans (MSI SUPRIM X) are louder than this CPU cooler, maintaining quiet operation yet visually presentable.

March 7, 2023 - The AS500 Plus can even out perform the AK620 in some scenarios, specially on Intel platform in their testing. ... Yup. I have an ITX system so this was a good option for me. Really like mine. Make sure to check that clearance though cause this is a tall one ... Deepcool makes for some great products but for anything $60 & under I'd go with a Noctua NH-U12S Redux or Pure Rock 2
