August 3, 2025Has anyone tried using a Deepcool Assassin 4S on a 9800X3D? If yes, how does it perform?
The regular Assassin IV doesn't block the RAM either. Works great, I use one on my 9800X3D. Idles ~45C and runs around 60C in games. Loading all cores like Cinebench it gets up around 80C, but all silent. More on reddit.com

I want to build an AM5 system based on 9900X3D/9950X3D. I would like a X870/X870E chipset mobo and Deepcool Assassin IV VC aircooler. These X870 motherboards come with a chunky radiators, since Deepcool's website states that these coolers aren't compatible with some motherboards (for previous non vision ver), I'm getting a bit concerned.

Should this fancy vapour chamber be enough to tame a new 12 or 16 core X3D?
A bit of background. I really like this cooler as it pleases me aesthetically and I'm aiming to create a bit of monochromatic look. And I prefer air cooling as me being likely a dinosaur, I don't want an AIO.
Also I'm really sad to see low stock levels on gigabyte's X870Es as these boards seem pretty nice. :/

Will the Deepcool Assassin IV VC be compatible with X870/X870E Gigabyte or MSI make motherboards? The fan at the end might get in a way I think. :/ The cooler itself will fit the motherboard, though you'll have to check out which configuration suits your needs better (fan back or front). With the fan in the back it may interfere with a very large VRM heatsink on a board (though I'd have guessed it always clears that), with a fan at the front you need to make sure you have low profile RAM so it fits underneath the cooler. I would like a X870/X870E chipset Any reason why X870(E) over B850? It's only useful if you need USB 4.0 and on most motherboards that comes with compromises to NVME storage expandability (which probably is more important to more people). X870E only add more lanes to the chipset over B850/X870, still limited by the 4.0x4 uplink to the CPU.

Quick build of my new CH160 with latest Deepcool Assassin IV VC Vision.
There were few posts/videos circulating that it is not possible, however with the configuration listed below it is possible despite almost no gap between cooler screen and the pc case glass panel.

Additional notes:

I removed default bottom dust cover as it is not possible to remove and clean it without video card removal. I built custom one which attached on magnets to the outside bottom panel (https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B09Y336F2R).

Due to rear intake another custom dust panel was made to prevent dust go inside from the back.
