I recently bought a new PC with AMD Ryzen 9 9900x. I chose it because of its relatively low TDP and good performance. On the advice of my friend I bought Deepcool Assasin 4, as he uses this cooler for AMD Ryzen 9 7900x, which has a TDP of 160w, and the cooler copes well enough. So I thought that my CPU, which has a TDP of 120w, should also be cooled. But after assembly I started to observe a rather ambiguous picture. On the Internet they write a lot that 9900x doesn't get hotter than 80 etc. And partly it is true. As I saw it on the example of Cinebench R23 and R24. I ran the tests in them and indeed it didn't get above 80 with TDP of 125-130w. But when I ran AIDA with CPU, FPU, cache, system memory, GPU tests, the mark went up to 95 degrees with the same 125w TDP, but the most interesting thing is that the processor was not trotting. It was stable at 5.1 ghz. Ok, I basically knew that AIDA is the toughest test any computer can experience and didn't pay much attention to it. I decided to test it in Minecraft with the Distant Horizon mod. And when I in this mod I turn on the maximum settings, the temperature, judging by HWiNFO reaches up to 94 degrees, but it is not constant and the same 125w TDP. In other games (checked on Rdr 2) I such temperatures Also I noticed that Ryzen Master shows a different temperature from most monitoring programs, and it is usually less by 4-5 degrees. Basically my concern is not so much that the CPU is running at such temperatures, but rather the question of assasin iv efficiency. For my friend has about the same picture on temperatures (if not better), although he has TDP 160w. And here I do not understand, whether I misinterpret the data from monitoring, or some defect in the cooler or a joint in the installation of this cooler on the processor.
