Why do people say you saved my life when in reality they didn’t save there life Because they die later?
Because you CAN save someone's life. It's situational. If I push you out from in front of a bus, then I saved your life. Saying "I delayed your death" sounds dumb, honestly. In that situation, I did save your life.

Like it’s impossible to save someone’s life and yet that is a very common phrase in stuff like movies. Why can’t it be changed to something that is more logical like delaying someone’s death? Because while impossible to save someone’s life we do have the ability to delay death which is what saving someone’s life means. So why is delaying someone’s death not a phrase we use when that is a literal definition of what it actorly means?

You think you’re being clever, but you’re being incredibly inconsistent in your application of permanence. Everything is impermanent. Nothing lasts forever. Do I need to qualify that I didn’t actually save any money because society will collapse one day and either mine or my inheritors money will be worthless?
